Farmer Barwick is a curmudgeon old Lucht whom is likely far shorter than a lucht should be likely due to the hump in his back. A long life of hard farm labor can wreck a person. That being said, the lot of you are shocked to see the elderly creature running at a panicked velociity towards the city - one arm flailing and the other holding onto his straw hat. "Help! help! Y'all've done got help me! please?!" The hoarse whistling voice of the old man directed at the group of adventurers who have gather to exchange words and stories outside one of the gates of the city.
It's not a particularily nice day. Overcast. Might rain. Might not. It's certainly colder than it ought to be and the thaw has made the roads harder to navigate with the puddles and mud. Absolutely forgetable. If it weren't for the squealing halfing.

Felicia has reconnected.
Squealing halflings are very annoying. Felicia just takes a deep breath and walks her way to the lucht and claps a hand over his mouth. "Now....what seems to be the problem?" And she doesn't let go until the lucht calms down.......and stops squealing....
High pitched squealing is never a good thing. Raising her brow, she purses her lips as she looks towards the elderly halfling and hrmms. "Woah, calm down." Talia calls out raising her hands as she hrmms. "There's people here willing to help." Bowing her head as she recognizes Felicia, she turns her attention back to the halfling.
Azra just looked at you.
"Help you with what, you daft old man? Stop yelling!" The thick plains accent is one of the more unfamilliar ones among the human poulation of Alexandria, but Azra uses it easily. Her garb is similarly unusual, flowing tousers and blouse in deep greens wrapped in a violent red cloak. She even wears a head covering which mostly leaves her olive eyes visible, making most other features largely a guess. The woman adjusts her bow where she has it slung and looks up toward the top of a nearby building. "Did a monster run you off of your farm...?"
Nearby a griffon suns himself and watches fixedly, as gigantic birds do.
Panicked muffled words spill from the short creature's mouth but Felicia's hand covering his bearded maw makes it difficult to speak. Sweaty and defeated, his shoulders slump somewhat and his hands fall to his side. Aged blue eyes flicker between Felicia and Talia until his mouth is freed. "My family's farm! Skeletons! Dead people done came in the mawning ayn' done attacked us. Ay barely done got out alive. They done got ayy few av us but the mowst av us are a-hidin' at the burrow. Y'all've done got ta help us! We'll pay!" Looking to Azra with concern - perhaps the name calling has him looking for others to beg for help.
<OOC> Azra would not, for the record, be offended if he literally just didn't invite Azra because she's rude. XD
"it's all right. We'll go and take care of it. You get to Alexandria and head for the temple district. We'll meet you there when we're done." FElicia then stands and looks to the others. "Coming?"
Chuckling her crossbow with a silly grin, Talia nods. "Well I gues we've got to do something about it, though.." and she looks at her crossbow. "This will probably be useless against skeletons." And off in the distance a hawk can be heard screeching in the affirmative.

Felicia has partially disconnected.
Barwick lights up with Felicia's commitment and nods several times in appreciation; shaking her hand several times. "Oh! Thank ya! Thank ya! Temple district. Got it!" Turning to point down the road. "Now faw directions, follow the road straaheet. Take y'all's first done left. Second raheet. Then done left agayn. Three buildings on thay ...err raheet amidst thay ...err wheat fields." Shifting his straw hat and turning to look to Talia, "Skeletons. Zombies. All sorts of decay. Ay've done got naw idea where they done came frawum."
"Skeletons..." The woman sighs slowly shakes her head. "I spoke too soon. Excuse me." It seems to be an effort of will on the part of the unsuually dressed woman bu she manages the apology straightforwardly enough. Then she lifts a hand. "Gunes." The watching giant bird takes a leap and spreads his wings, gliding toward the outer side of town. It's a slow descent, but one nonetheless. "We'll help you. Yes." The giant bird is going to take a look as well, it seems. He has a good vantage point. "Is anyone still there? Or trapped?"
Taleth just looked at you.
"They got a few of us." Farmer Barwick offers, "But the rest of us are safe. Please hurry. They'll kill the livestock."
Felicia says, "Good to see your priorities are in line.""
Looking up into the sky, Talia motions the hawk in the direction that Barwick offered. "Let's go then. Time's wasting!"

<OOC> Azra says, "Yes! Big bird will scan the horizon for anything surprising. :)"

While the Griffon does see a small farm in obvious distress - about six shambling corpses moving about; some feasting on livestock. The hawk also picks up that there is a distant graveyard that appears to have been disturbed. A very small graveyard. Like small community pioneer graves.
It's about a 45min walk. It could be cut back to about a half hour if you're jogging or running - though the mud is making it difficult to follow the roads. The farm consists of three buildings. A small house, a barn and a tool shack. It's eerily quiet. The wildlife have left the area and only the sound of the howling wind. In the distance, a gaunt, rotting corpse can be seen at the center of one of the pens, feasting on the innards of a pig. With the distance, it hasn't noticed you yet but given the heavy scent of rot in the air, you're not alone.
WHAM!
The door of the tool shack flies open, getting caught in the wind - the distant sound of groaning beginning to grow louder.
Skree! The hawk comes back and circles above the fray.
Talia purses her lips as she bites on her bottom lip as it was quite the walk to get to the farms. Glancing to her companions, she knows she's not exactly a front liner. "Plans?"
<OOC> Dubtle says, "Catching up!"
"At ths point I think I am going to put an arrow through the head of that thing and see if I can't draw them out with Gunes," Azra begins softly. "We can clear the farm before continuing on and figuring everything else out. Not much point waiting, unless we've a stealthy sort who wants to search them out before we start a fight?" She is already beginning to unlimber her bow. The griffon has landed nearby and folded his wings across his back, having glided as far as he could some ways back. He paces while he waits for Azra to make her decision. She chooses to climb astride his back.
He's been here, of course. Dubtle has been here and he;'s happy to help. HE's been quiet so far, of course, even if the raven sitting up on his shoulder has let out the occasional annoying squawk or verbal insult at its master.
"Slow," it says to Dubtle.
"Shhh," replies the Khazad.
Felicia unties her mace as they get close to the farm. "I'll go up front. I don't mind." She says as she strides for the farm....

"You take the lead for sure!" Talia chirps cheerily, nosewrinkling as she starts heading towards the farm, twiddling her fingers and mtutering words long forgotten as she scans the area looking for any other potential dangers (or treasures!) that are magical in nature. PING!

As Azra sits astride her mighty bird she lifts the large bow she carries. The woman guides with her heels, drawing the war bow carefully, held at an angle across her body instead of straight. It's a solid broadhead shaft nearly a half inch in diameter and strikes the thing with punishing force... Despite deflecting and ending up buried in a wall. Azra huffs softly as she digs in her heel.
Moving her way forwards, Felicia simply heads for the zombie that was shot at. Apparently, she's looking to be bait.

For her part, she remains silent as she gets closer, scanning the area. "There's something causing the zombies. I'll try to find it." Talia tells the others knowing she's probably not the most useful in combat at this point.
"...well, this isn't good," is what Dubtle announces.
"Yes," replies the raven. "You're very helpful and intelligent. What DOES Navos see in you?"
"Would you /shut up/?" demands the khazad of his familiar accompaniment. In the meantime, he casts a spell, a brief silvery light shining over him.
Thud. Azra's arrow slams into the torso of the zombie that was enjoying fresh pork. Stumbling back, it's rotting head turns upwards to focus on Azra and the approaching Felicia. In its tattered rags, the once human rotting construct begins to shamble towards the road. When Felica closes the distance, it picks up speed and rushes her; bringing both fists up in the air to slam her down into the mud. Both fists collide with her shield - easily deflected by the war cleric.
All the commotion draws the attention of the others however. All in various states of decay. One shambling out of the tool shed, two coming from around the sides of the house and another dragging itself out of the barn. Loud groans and hisses accompany them as they all appear to be moving in the heroes direction.

And while she doesnt find anything, Talia continues to rush forward. Upon seeing one of the zombies be attacked by the paladin, she twiddles her fingers and points, sending a blob of acid it's way, but it unfortunately misses, melting some grass instead.

Felicia....being the one up front, ducks behind her shield when the zombie attacks. However, she smashes the thing's head with her mace. It doesn't kill it, but it does do a good bit of damage.

His raven pecks him in the face once.
In response, he opens his mouth in a wordless scream that gives the zombie pause. IT turns to look at the Khazad before blood bursts out both ears, spraying Felicia in the face by one side.
"..s-sorry," says Dubtle, a hand going over his mouth.

Her rain is fuzzed or something. Talia just can't figure things out as to what is causing the zombies, but she knows there's something she can do at least. Making those twiddling motions with her fingers, she sends another blob of acid towards the zombie's direction, this time hitting it! POINK!

In the melee with Felicia now, the zombie appear anxious to get past that wall that is her shield. Clawed hands scrape at the metal leaving streaks of congealed blood across it. It eventually tries to slam her again, bringing up its fists and forcing them down upon her but shield interrupts it yet again. Then its head explodes violently before its remains drop to its knees.
One charges Dubtle - the other charges the Griffon. Both getting smashed down by the zombie's pummeling fists. The one from the barn is catching up however - and it's shambling hungrily towards Felicia who happens to be the closest. "Ughhhhhhh...."

The zombie charges into the enormous bird and lashes out, nails tearing into flesh and ripping away feathers. It responds by rearing, letting out a shrill cry and digging its claws into the things. The animal tears the zombie in half and flails with the pieces like a rag doll, tossing them across the field in all directions. Azra, for her part, whispers soothing things as she applies a white lotion to the wounds and they begin to heal.

Felicia sees the other zombies coming, so she calls upon the maiden of battle to BURN these abominations that defile this proud farm. The zombies, all hit by the positive energy, get flames searing at their skulls.....from their eye sockets.

"Euuugh! I HATE ZOMBIES," yells Dubtle.
HE staggers back away from the one in his face, lightning crackling at his finger tips as he utters words of great arcane power. The lightning ar ches out from his fingers, slicing through the zombie in front of him, causing it to collapse in a blackened heap before zapping another in its path before dispersing. The second one also collapses, smoking.
It does not smell good. At all.
<OOC> Felicia says, "especially for a war priest."
The holy flash of divine energy that erupts from Felicia burns the zombies flesh in ways that are beyond painful for the undead creatures. They almost writhe in agony, nearly stopping for a moment before pushing forward. But then the Dwarf's lightning bolt comes and serves as the icing on the cake. The crackling bolt ripping through the humid air in a near blue flash that turns two zombies to ash.
If the remaining zombie approaching had any sense it would turn and run - but instead it picks of speed, making a final dash for Felicia - flailing its rotting arms at her and smashing wildly against her shield.

Talia is just DUMB. She's super dumb to where her brain is super fogged, but considering the zombies have been filed with positivity, it means they're all blarghing towards the group! Seeing an opening, she twiddles her fingers and mutters thse same words, being a one trick pony as she poinks another zombie with some acid once more!

As the bow falls onto the griffon's back Azra yelps. She spends a second massaging her fingers as she goes for her lance. There's no time wasted in directed Gunes, however. With a shriek her mount rounds on the final zombie. It isn't a knight's lance. This one is slender and light, easily carried beside her on her mount. But the charge easily spears the last zombie through its rotting chest and she tosses the carcass aside as she rounds away to avoid trampling Felicia in turn.
<OOC> Taleth says, "That seems to be all of them. What do you want to do now?"
<OOC> Felicia says, "make sure there aren't more."
<OOC> Felicia has detect undead.
<OOC> Taleth says, "You don't sense anything."

Felicia lowers her shield, finally and looks about a bit. "Well done, Talia. The Maiden of Battle shall look fondly upon you for sch an action." She says before glaring further in. "I don't sense any more Zombies for the moment. We need to check the graveyard."
Curtsying towards the paladin-ess? Talia beams brightly and flashes her pearly whites. "Thank you, I didn't really do as much as the others. There's still a lot to learn it seems." she admits ruefully, glancing about as she hrmms for a few moments, pursing her lips as she's lost in thought. "But good job everyone! Let's go find those hiding and tell them it's all right now?"

Either way, he sounds aggrieved. "Not yet. Let's make sure we didn't misso n that wandered off from the herd and suych."

"I hope she does," Azra agrees with a nod. She takes a deep breath and, for once, removes the garb over her face to reveal her brunette hair and sweat pouring down her forehead. "I ask her to every night." She sets the bird to walking then, murmuring to it in the language of the plains. It screes in turn. "Yes," she notes gently. "More foul monsters to trample back into the earth. and then a rabbit, I imagine." A squawk. "I'm not made of steak, you know."
The graveyard is about a ten minute walk from the farm. Not hard to get to through the corfields. It's not a big graveyard. 6 stones total. About twenty feet from wooden fence to wooden fence. Of course the graves have been disturbed with mounds of dirt upon five of them where the corpses had crawled out. The sixth? The sixth however was excavated. Dug out. There is even a shovel there sticking out of the dirt and the old wooden box has been pried open with a tool. The skeleton is still there - very old - wearing some rusted chain armor with an almost tin helmet.
Felicia says, "you fight along side of a Vanguard of Serriel. She looks upon you fondly." She then looks to the griffon. "Does it smell something?"

Huff puff. Its another long walk, and for the most part, Talia remains quiet until she sees the graveyard. Muttering a soft prayer to Eluna, she glances about, squinting as she brings her fingers up like a monacle glancing about to see if anything reeks of magic.
<OOC> Taleth says, "No magic. Though there is that distinct necrotic chill ever present."

"Nothing so far," Azra replies as she winds the cloth up once more to cover her head until only those olive eyes are visible. She's a swarthy woman, petite under the flowing garb, and probably smaller than one might have expeccted of her It makes no difference to her skills of course. "I am afraid I have no real idea s to what this might be... Or rather, why this one was left here." She shakes her head once, briefly.

Doing her best Sherlock Holmes impression, Talia nosewrinkles as she rubs her chin as she looks about the graveyard. "There has to be something that created the zombies. You're a paladin, do you think there's something here reasonably unholy that would cause the dead to rise?" she asks curiously, not quite sure as she looks for signs of necromancy about.

He frowns, of course, dipping down to his knees and then picking up a bit of plant matter between his fingers.
He examines it, of course. "I zee the zombie foot prints, bu no, there's something else here. Do you see the wheat? Something passed this way, going towards the forest. No doubt it's what raised these poor people but we can't be sure. I mean, it's that or something that doesn't leave any discernable foot prints that's completely natural."
