- Summary: Murder and Skielstregar have a little brawl in the Colosseum sands. Yaretzi spectates and offers premier peanut gallery.
- The Colosseum, Midday
It's none too long after a chat and a meal at the Fire Lodge that an incredibly shiny silver makari lumbers into Colosseum sands. Skielstregar, with all of his equipment and armor, looks a bit wary for the coming spar. It's usually something he'd look forward to, but a small gobbo assured him that it would be okay to let loose.
Hopefully he could keep it reigned in.
As he finds a spot for the two of them that afforded enough space, he turns to look down at thigh high companion. "Sssoo... erm... we're jussst punching each other?" he asks in a rumble.
The Gobbo hasn't really stopped talking the entire walk, which is thankfully brief. She's incredibly excited, and nods eagerly. "We could use just our fists, sure!" Her disappointment is briefly seen in her expression, but it is quickly dispelled. "I had thought maybe we'd use blades or something, though."
She drops her backpack to the ground, and leans her sword against it. Then, despite the gusts, she pulls her furs off, til she's in just a loincloth and narrow top. "Are you going to remove your armor?", she wonders, "I mean, your scales are going to hurt enough as it is."
GAME: Murder refreshes spells.
Skielstregar shifts a bit after seeing the flash of disappointment. "... we can ussse weaponsss," he concedes, reaching behind himself to pull free the ominious, shining halberd from it's frog. "But thisss one will use the flat. They do not wisssh to injure you too much."
He shakes his head. "No no, good point, pleassse, erm, put everything back on."
"Fists are probably the better idea, though, aren't they? I know you're really worried about hurting me, and fists won't draw blood like blades do, right?" She pats her stomach, and laughs. "Besides, you'll have less to grab on me, so I'll be harder to grapple."
Skiel gives a slight sigh, then puts the halberd away. "Very well." A few straps are pulled, and the veritable armory that is his weapons falls away to be set aside. More buckles are pulled, and he slips out of the breastplate. The plated skirt. The tail armor. He even removes a reinforced glove as its all tossed into a pile.
The lumbering makari strides forward, cracking his knuckles with deep pops. Clad in nothing more than pants, a shirt, and his holy symbol dangling from his neck. "Thisss one isss not the grabbing sssort," he murmurs. "But, erm, they will do their bessst to give you a proper challenge."
He widens his stance and raises his fists.
The Goblin whistles in appreciation as the mountain of a 'makari strides towards her. "I appreciate that.", she says with a big, toothy grin. "I am going to use a few spells. Jump and spider climb. So that I can get up there and maybe do some damage, yes? Is this okay?"

Yaretzi had come to practice in the sands, the Colosseum seeming to be a popular choice this day. Skielstregar is noticed, but instead of calling out, she simply just walks that way. Murder's presence noted as it seems two are up to something.
Giving the two a bit of berth, Yaretzi settles, and finds a bit of the arena wall to rest upon, waiting to see what comes of this, and not daring to interrupt.

Skiel shrugs. "Thisss one doess not know what those are, but do what you will. Magic isss just a weapon of the body."
Besides, the magic he can use isn't... particularly kind in a friendly duel. So far in his head and focused, he doesn't spot Godclaw taking a spectator spot. After Aelwyn, he's not the best at making a show.
He's a bit distracted, slow on the draw.

"The first allows me to jump really high. The second allows me to uh stick to stuff. Like that wall you call a chest." Murder giggles lightly, and begins weaving little patterns with her fingers, her voice whispering the words of magic.
The Gobbo crouches and then jumps straight up, looking able to leap over Skiel in a single bound. Landing lightly on her feet, and following up with a roll, she giggles as she straightens. She snarls then, and flexes, all the muscle and sinew straining. "Ready?!"
Yaretzi is instantly perplexed at the the launching goblin, eyes wide as she takes in how the small woman vaults over the silver Makari. It was so effortlessly, and she's only just began the teasing. "Oh, Skielstregar. Yar knows not what you have gotten into, but she can already tell she'd want no part of it!" she calls in jest, and letting the Makari know he's being watched from one of the walls.
Skielstregar snaps out of his thoughts as Murder all but flings herself past his head height, surprised laced on his features. "Ah, erm, yesss, thisss one isss ready-"
Someone's calling his name. He flinches, ducking his head and peering off to the side. "Oh. Hello Godcl-" he chokes some. "G-Godclaw! Ah, erm, hello! Uh... we are jussst sparring. Erm. Yesss, perhapsss besst to not get in the middle of thisss."
The man turns back. "Thisss one is... erm, ready."
The added pressure of a spectator makes him too slow to go first.

Murder doesn't acknowledge the voice from the 'crowd', snarling again and running at Skielstregar full tilt. She takes to the air, landing on his shoulder and pivoting, a foot kicking out.
Yaretzi falls quiet, watching intently as Murder goes on the assault. She smirks, and laughs when the small woman kicks out with her foot, nodding approvingly. Yes, she watches the bout with interest and a wide smile.

Skielstregar blinks as Murder charges at him. He attempts to step back, expecting a jump, but ends up getting perched on like some sort of savage bird. Thunk! "Ack!"
See. Skiel has horns. They aren't just for show. He twists his body to snap his head around, crashing one into Murder's leg as his thick skull knocks against them on the return, tail flailing in circles behind him to keep his balance.

The pleased look on Murder's face is brief, the Goblin squeaking as is headbutted. She rubs at her leg and grunts, a little step has her standing on his head, where she stomps down on the top of it. "Hah, now whatcha gonna do?"
"Ha!" Yaretzi's laughs loudly as she watches Murder take a thump or two as the Makari springs back into action. Her amusement is only heightened once Murder is on her poor friend's head, even wincing in some sympathy/empathy mix as that little foot stamps his skull. "Good thing Skiels has thick head."

Skiel grunts as another kick clonks to his head. "Thisss one hasss thick head, but ssstill hurtsss!" he mentions to Yaretzi, spying her amusement.
He huffs. "Fine! Thick ssskull it isss!" He reaches up, grabbing Murder's legs and pulling her down onto his skull as he strides briskly towards the arena wall and >Crash!<es his Murder-helmet into it!

The Gobbo squeaks as she's yanked down, and grunts as she's used as a helmet vs the arena wall. She lets out a pained gurgle afterwards, and brings up her little elbows. "That fucken hurt!!", she yells, bringing her elbows down hard.
Yaretzi claps as this fight begins to turn into a true melee, having to step away from them and find a different bit of wall as Skielstregar crosses a bit too closely to her as he tries to smash a Murder-hat. At least its a hat that fights back! "Yes, nice elbow!" rooting for the small woman.

Skielstregar yelps as elbows come down in the same spot. He is a hearty man. He has a thick skull. But only so much can be taken in the same location over and over. "No! Not nice elbow! Bad elbow!" he complains, twisting around and flailing like a cat with something stuck on their face. Finally, he just reaches up, barely grabs the gobbo by the ankle, and overhand throws her back to the sands.

The small woman is hurled at the ground, but almost immediately spins, landing upon her feet gracefully. She grins toothily, a tickle of blood leaking from between her teeth. Leaping once more, she lands upon the 'makari's stomach, from where she lashes upwards, cracking her little fist onto Skielstregar's jaw. "You might have the edge, but I have the crowd on my side! Hear them call my name! Mur-der, Mur-der!"
"No. No murder Skiels! This one don't care if small woman can bounce like frog, but murder is too much." Yar says with a flare of nostrils, and a glance away after Skiel's throw. "What is the small lady's name, anyways?" she asks, trying to act unimpressed with Murder's skill and flexibility as she darts to slap the Makari's belly. "Plus, murdering Makari with fists will take long time."

The towering makari readies for another leap, but this time Murder ends up clinging to his shirt and gut. He's stymied for a spell, but gets rocked in the jaw. Head snapping back, some black and red ichor flies from his maw.
There's a translucent shape under his shirt. An angry grey and red that's hard to spot under the brown fabric. But one can't examine it for long as a large mitt clamps down on Murder's shoulder. The other one is leaking a black ichor as two quick jabs smash against them. "Their name isss Murder!" he growls, apparently having taking this a bit more seriously for some reason or another.

Murder squirms mightily as the hand clamps down around her shoulder, and she grunts in pain as she's pummeled in her side. Her eyes suddenly glow brightly as she lets out another snarl. Her movements have increased strength behind them, but before she can free herself, she bends her head forwards and bites into the hand that holds her in place.

"Oh." Yaretzi says, the realization of the woman's name making her fall quiet. Yes, that squeeze of Skielstregar is watched, but so is that bite that comes from Murder. She's left laughing again, shaking her head as the goblin gets a mouthful of scales and hide. "Yar don't imagine Skiel's tasting good. Like cold, and half........" not finishing that thought. It's a bit morbid, even for Yar.

Whatever came over the man dies quickly as he gets his head under wraps. But he suddenly yelps in pain. Blood is drawn. It tastes of iron, cold, and rot? No. It's not, but it makes most want to spit it out, that same feeling. "Thiss one doess not tassste good!" he agrees with Yaretzi, releasing the bit hand as it comes back down with a heavy back slap to try and get the gobber off of him.
At first, the Gobbo simply drops to the floor, a small spray of blood mixing with sweat. But she hops up once more, a gutteral growl heard as she takes to the air once more, to deliver a solid kick to his chest.

Yaretzi is left just watching as the two before her go back and forth in this slug-fest of kicks, claws and bites. It's strange, a fight such as this being something Yar is left perplexed by. "Yar can't tell if this is advance fighting, or children's squabble."
Skielstregar, once the gobbo lands on the floor, looks over to Yaretzi with a confused expression. "What do you mean, Godclaw, we are clearly sp-"
It's almost like the rest of the air in his body gets expelled as the kick strikes his chest. He staggers back.
Looks down with a /slightly/ panicked expression.
And a full weighted, black ichor wreathed fist comes down at full speed right into Murder's center mass.
Murder bounces off the floor, a painful, gurgled gasp pushed from her lungs. She goes still once she settles upon the ground, clearing struggling to breath in anything but painful sounding gasps. The Gobbo attempts to get up once, and ends up sprawling back onto the floor.
"All the slapping and biting." Yaretzi answers, her smile broadening as Skielstregar takes a kick for his distraction. "Small one fights well, Yar would not face her without weapon." she notes, nodding slowly as Murder falls back and takes her rest in the sands. "The jumping... Yar would be howling, and full of anger."
Skielstregar's breath is a bit shaky as dead eyes dart about, ichor still dripping off his fists and claws as he pulls himself together. What he just did catches up to him, and a small gasp leaves his maw. "A-Ah!"
He scrambles over to Murder, knees in the sand. "That isss what thisss one wasss trying to avoid, anger and the like. Oh, Father, thisss one isss sorry, Murder, are you okay? Do you need thisss one to get a healer? Did they break anything?" he frets worriedly.
A shaky hand reaches up to pat at Skiel's knee. "Shhh. I .. I knew this was a possible outcome. You need not apologize to the Gods. You did well." Her voice is small and punctuated by gasps and coughs.
"I would... accept being carried to a healer, just let me catch a breath."
"A healer or their location Yar does not know." Yaretzi muses, coming off the wall and crossing towards the two as an arm reaches into a satchel at her side. A swirling liquid of gold taken out in a potion as she dips to place it in the sand near Murder. "Skielstregar hits hard, not... as bad as Stjepan, but hard all the same." she muses. "This ale potion will help."
Standing tall once again, Yaretzi casts an eye to Skielstregar. "Too kind one is. Beat on them, then cry over the harm. Silly, but fitting of the Silver."
Pats of reassurance assuages him somewhat, but Skiel still frets and fidgets with his hands. "A... ah... o... okay, erm. Here," he reaches down, carefully putting the back of his cold hand against one of the larger bruises on the gobbo. He's a mobile ice pack!
A glance to Yaretzi, and he sighs in relief as she offers some manner of healing. "Thank you, Godclaw."
The comment, however, gets a bit of his cheeks to frost over. He rubs at his chest. "... well, uh, thisss one jussst doesn't like hurting people."
The Gobbo guzzles greedily at the potion, smacking her lips afterwards. "Why does it takes like beer?", she wonders of Yaretzi, "Sweet beer."
Sitting up, she shivers at Skielstregar's touch, but pats him once more. "Thanks, big guy. For humouring me and for being apologetic. I owe you."
Yaretzi grins wider as Murder's words seize on one of her trinkets. "Yar has made it goal to find City's strangest things. This is one of Yar's finds."
"And everyone in city owes the Makari, Silver." Before Skiels can object, Yar tries to head him off. "Do not say it not so! Skiels help warn city, and do big things." she says with a smirk, stepping away to give them some distance "Skeils is just... good. Good friend, good spar partner, and Yar hears he is good cihuaa."
Skielstregar lets out a final sigh of acceptance. "Very well. Thisss one isss ssstill sorry nonethelesss, they ssstill have some partsss of them that they have to keep reigned in."
The human woman read him like a book, him opening his maw to say otherwise, but it clamps shut. More frost gathers on his face, tiny icicles forming on his jaw. Which only grows as more compliments are said.
Was this what Andelena was talking about? "... t... thank you," he quietly mentions, humbled. "Thisss one triesss their bessst..."
He clears his throat. "Are you ready to be moved, Murder? You sssstill need a healer," Skiel asks, holding out his arms to help pick her up if she desires.
Murder huffs and snorts to Yaretzi. "It's not a good idea... people might drink them for the flavouring, instead of for their function. But it is.. odd, certainly."
The Gobbo slowly stands, reaching out to break off one of the little icicles growing on Skielstregar's chin. "The potion helped, I can handle my own healing at this point. But you can help me get home, if you insist."
She glances at the Sith's chest. "I uhm can't help but notice you got a little something going on here..."
Yaretzi laughs nodding her head to Murder's words. "It is not Yar's idea, but... yes. Yar said as much herself." a glance then goes to Skielstregar after the small woman's comment of his chest, snorting a heavier laugh, and turning to walk away from the sands. "Yar... did not get much done, but saw something fun. Now she goes, for the Crimson Pen has taught her well. Once one talks of another's chest, clothes come off next."
Skiel blinks as an icicle is taken, before he turns his head away and scrapes them all away, like it would remove a softskin's blush. "Thisss one can help you get home jussst to be sure."
The observation coupled with Yaretzi laughter makes a mixed expression of embarrassed and nervous. "T-Thisss one isss not going to do that Godcl- aaand ssshe'sss gone."
He buries his face into his hands, cycling a breath before rising once more. "... erm. Thisss one hasss scar on chessst, that'ss all," he says a bit dismissively.
Murder stares after the woman, her head canted to one side. "Why do you call her Godclaw?", she wonders of Skiel. "And I call bullshit on that, you went into beast mode after I delivered a kick there. It is not just a simple scar."
The Gobbo crosses her arms, eyeing Skiel's chest critically. "Can I see it?"
Skielstregar answers simply, "Warrior Yaretzi isss of the Claw of Kor. Hence, Godclaw."
The observation makes him shift on his feet, he too crossing his arms. But to cover his chest rather than to look stern. There's a long pause. Long, long pause. Mulling something over in his head.
His shoulders droop, and a sigh spills out. "Fine." He uncrosses his arms and grabs the hem of his shirt. "Do you remember thisss one told you they are partially undead?"
He removes his shirt.
Before Murder is a veritable wall of muscle, mirror-like scales, and flesh. There is a machine behind those punches and this is the engine.
However, marring what would be a radiant sight in the sun is a nasty, vertical scar that runs through the center of his chest, right over where his heart should be. The line is a grey and dull red, the hue faded, the scarring set, but it is there and unmistakable to any that uses a weapon professionally.
He fidgets a bit on his feet. "One doesss not become undead without becoming first dead."
He's been ran through.
Her voice can be heard whispering another spell, and moments after she is hovering in the air. She glides in slowly, her face incredibly close as she takes in the scar.
"That is one impressive stab wound. But are you really undead?", she wonders softly. It is obvious that she wants to inspect the scar, to touch it, to marvel in the knotted flesh.
"Fascinating. I can honestly say that I've got little that comes even close to this brush with death."
She moves away slightly, glancing at the rest of him. "Can I see more?" Her expression grows cheeky.
As Murder moves closer, Skiel loses nerve and steps back, a hand reaching out to stiff them back and keep distance. It's clear he's rather particular about this. "Partially undead, healing magicsss from the godsss alwaysss feelsss wrong and somewhat painful, and sssome of the magicsss that come easssiest to thisss one isss necromancy," he answers.
And the answer for the cheeky question is met with a flat, "No. Thisss one hass Chiuaa, and isss not interested in anyone other than her."
He dons his shirt, the mere act making a relieved sigh come from him.
The Gobbo offers a bow, and giggles. "I guess your friend will be disappointed that clothing did not come off." Her giggle continues as she moves to replace her armor, the cold of the day now starting to be felt in the post-rage afterglow. "I was just being cheeky.", she says softly, "I was not intending to.. infringe upon your betrothed."
Skiel ambles over to this things, picking up his breastplate and sliding the armor on, the medal and ribbon clanking softly against the mithral. A small chuckle leaves him, humor returning. "Sssuposse she will be disappointed," he mentions, picking up the belts of weapons.
He shakes his head. "It isss fine. Thisss one jussst hasss to draw linessss. It hasss lead to major misssunderstandings in the passst and they do not want a repeat of that."
The makari shoulders his things, the halberd peeking over his shoulder and gleaming a bright silver. "Let usss get you healed and back home, no?" he hums warmly.
Murder floats up and settles gently onto Skiel's shoulder.
"Lead on, then, lead on.", she says softly. "So.. what did you think?"
Skielstregar doesn't move Murder off his shoulder, him accepting his fate as a glorified bench. He scratches his chin as he goes. "Hmm... you.... fight like a cat. Difficult to keep ssstill and many scratchesss and bitesss. Thisss one might have a hard time if we usssed our weaponsss. Your magicsss make it hard for thisss one to keep track of you. Thisss one iss impressed."
"I feel that you were holding back a little, until I kicked you in the chest. But you do hit like a giant, just so you know. Methodical and strong, is my assessment of you. Where I might possess some measure of dexterity, you have strength in spades. I am very impressed with your strength and physique. Which is the source of my desire to see more of it." the Gobbo pats his shoulder. "Were we on opposite sides in life, you would be a feared and fearsome opponent."
She chuckles. "I think I would have to use combat spells to even the odds further. Or be.. deceitful in combat.
Skielstregar rumbles warmly at the assessment. "Thisss one thanksss you for your kind wordssss. They like to get problemsss dealt with asss soon asss possible."
He scratches his chin. "... thisss one expected it from you. To be honessst, a small part of them thought you were faking the hit and wasss going to bite their nose off when they got close."
He laughs as he ducks under the door to the infirmary.
