- Title: Threads of Lore and Stories
- Place: A07: Fernwood Pub
- Summary: Simony and Rune discuss matters of recent events, catching each other up on tidbits of lore, and then Slixvah disguises her way in and enthralls Rune with the prospect of fantastical stories.
Dense clouds hang low over the city, a thick fog rolling through the streets. Instead, the streets are only dimly lit by various establishments still open at a late hour. Though most know that the moon has little to do with Werewolf activity, there are few who would tempt fate to be out and about if they don't have to.
Rune sits at one of the balcony tables, a mana-lantern lighting it as one of only a few still occupied at this hour. Below, there are some individuals drinking and socializing, but it is quieter on the upper level. Laid out before her are a series of pages which are held down by various small objects. It seems to be her notes about the various recent strange happenings around the city.
A half-full glass of wine sits next to the half-elf, as well as an equally half-eaten bit of food. She taps a writing instrument against her cheek, thoughtful as she scribbles something onto a page that seems dedicated to the activities near the Am'shere portal, while her hand taps on another that seems to be notes on the Werewolves.
The door opens to admit a little mist, and a little more Gobbo. She bumps the door closed with her hip, and moves to the bar. A short time later, she arrives at the upper balcony, wet footprints following behind her. In one hand, a modest sized notebook, and a few pencils, in the other, a mug of something steamy.
She smiles as she recognizes Rune, and sets the mug down on a nearby mana-lit tables, waving cheerfully. Settling in on a chair, she lets out a pained sigh, before putting her feet up on the opposite chair.
Her notebook is opened, paged through, and then her own pencil gets to work.
The sound of wet footsteps causes one of Rune's pointed ears to flick. Some sounds fade into the background, such as laughter from below or the movement of glasses, but this one is close enough to cause her to lift her head. The shift of focus has her blue eyes blinking slightly, as if she hadn't been fully aware of her surroundings until just that moment.
The wave is met with a lift of her own hand as she manages a tired smile of her own. "Good evening."
The sight of Simony settling down has Rune realize just how long it has been since she moved. The half-sil lifts her arms, giving a soft sound as she stretches stiff muscles. "A good night for catching up on some work for both of us it seems." There's a shift of interest, knowing very well that the Goblin was quite a bit more knowledgable than her on a fair number of matters. "Anything interesting?"
The Goblin mumbles something, and then blinks, looking up at Rune for a moment. Her brain catches up then, and she shrugs. "Sort of? I've been doing some personal research, as well, I'm tasked with hunting down certain tidbits of information."
She holds up a wee digit. "First, I witnessed what was described as a demon, a minion of... ", she pauses to page back through her notes, "Eclavdran. Attacking, or attempting such, Ravenstongue. Also, the paladin known as Seldan. One of the attackers wore Seldan's face, while the other was or wore the face of... his companion. Malik, I think the name was. So apparently demons are stealing people's faces to carry out acts of... evil? in someone else's name. Was a rough fight, got hit by something that just felt so wrong. So looking into that."
A second digit is held up. "So apparently demon-touched creatures have been roaming the Felwood. There's a gem that comes out of them, contains the demonic energy. Witnessed one gem, when tampered with, turn the tamperer into something demonic. I suspect that when the city put up its wards to protect it from summoning and teleportation magics, they threw a wrench into ... someone's plans, and that someone's had to change how they bring their minions into the city. Which is thing the third."
"Pfff, and then, the fourth thing... the werewolves. Apparently one 'leader' is dead? A bunch of the werewolves are dead but they're... scattered to the winds."
She lets her arm fall to the table. "So a little bit of fun stuff to look up."
And it is at that very moment that Rune realizes she may very well be out of touch with a number of things going on. Her pencil stills over her notes, listening to the tidbits of information are offered out, one at a time.
That is when she starts shifting objects off of her own pieces of parchment and rolls them up. "I've been so wrapped up in the matters near the portal that I've clearly missed a few things." Rune gathers the paper under one arm and then walks the short distance to join Simony at her table, setting down on the other side.
"I can help a little in regards to the werewolves." The half-sil leans forward, fidgeting with a ring that she now wears on one finger. "The leader was named Zalgiman. Apparently he and Cor'lana were close and he became somewhat infatuated with her." Rune's head tilts, showing some uncertainty there. "Anyways, he kidnapped her husband, Telamon, so Cor'lana recruited a bunch of us to storm the werewolf camp and rescue him." Her brows furrow, "Apparently he put some kind of curse on Tel, but last I spoke to him, they'd resolved that issue with Verna's help."
It's an information dump, but Rune seems more than happy to share knowledge for knowledge. "Do we think either of the other situations are related to the whole 'V' thing, or unrelated demonic activity?"
Simony peers at the ring that Rune is fidgeting with. "New ring?", she wonders of the Hal-Sil. "What's going on near the portal? That's the one to Am'shere, yes? Relatively close to Mictlan?"
The Gobbo nods then, "I.. I think Zalgiman was the leader who died? There's another out there, not sure what he's up to."
She quickly flips through her notes, "'V' thing? I am not sure what you are referencing. As far as demonic activity, there has been so much activity in and around Alexandria, I've begun to think that there is something we've missed, and those who came before us, missed, and before them, missed. Something in or near Alexandria must be drawing them."
Looking down, Rune glances at the ring before giving a small nod. "It's some sort of magic focus. Harkashan gave it to me before the fight with the werewolves." And it has now been mostly relegated to being little more than a fidget toy. At the very least, they haven't had to make use of the spell in a real fight.
"Mmm." There is a small sound of confirmation before Rune explains, "Harkashan and I have been investigating the smugglers that we ran into near the portal. The ones bringing Am'shere creatures into Alexandros." Delicate fingers draw a few dyed strands of hair behind one ear. "I think he wants to take a group over to Am'shere to investigate, but... I'm not sure if I'll be able to manage it or not." This reluctance is left unexplained, for now.
"I don't know about any other werewolves other than Zalgiman, but that may very well be because I'm not very knowledgable in that area. At all." Rune laughs, lifting her shoulders slightly.
"As for the whole 'V' thing, I'm not sure I fully understand it. They talked about it somewhat at that meeting Dolan held. Some sort of demon-devil that was controlling other demonic forces." Rune's brows furrow. "It seemed related to the werewolves as well as the strange books by Albus Kinkade."
Many a patrons go through the Fernwood, especially at this time of day. One of which is rainbow-clad eglarin slipping in through the ground floor. They cast their gaze about-
And promptly leave.
Following in none too later after their departure is a short gobber with floppy ears and wild red hair. It's kept tame by a rainbow ribbon, with a heavy brown robe fluttering about them to keep the warmth barely in with a sash. They order a drink, and meander about the crowd until aimless wandering ends them up on the balcony. And right beside the two conspiring folk about current ongoings.
She nudges her way into conversation, one sky blue eye squinting at Simony. "'ey. Ain't yous the ones thats onnna dems book smahts church peoples?" she wonders in a ragged tone.
Simony squints, and rubs at her cheek. "You're not saying the full name because it is related to demons, and saying their name is well, not a good thing, if they are powerful enough. So V is a demon, then, a powerful one. Well, I dunno if it is related... but maybe the black opals being found are what's being used to control other demonic forces? Maybe that's how they're controlling the werewolves... might explain their odd behavior."
She pages through her notes, "Yeah, all sorts of wilderness folk have been finding dead game everywhere, like the werewolves were killing just to kill."
Simony turns, then, looking startled at the person sliding into the conversation. She nods then, to the 'Gobbo'. "I am one of the church peoples, as you say, what may I do for you?"
"Actually, not saying the full name because I don't know it." Either Rune hadn't ever heard it, or completely missed it with everyone referring to the demon simply as 'V'. One corner of her mouth lifts in a rueful expression. "Though, I'll take your advice on the matter. I don't think angering demons is a good idea on the best of days."
Rune tucks a couple of her rolled pieces of paper into her backpack before speaking again, "I haven't heard much about the opals. Only some kind of totems. That Adventurers had wrested a bunch of them away from the werewolves."
Her brows furrow then, "A group of us helped a farmer with some dire wolf activity not long ago. And since then I've run into multiple sets of wolf tracks and predation in the woods. The kind that don't seem to be from werewolves. I suppose that makes it really hard to determine why there's so much dead game."
At that moment, she might have continued, but the arrival of the red-haired goblin draws her attention. "I'm not, but she most certainly is. Though I do travel pretty often with a Cleric of the Death-Singing Dragon and one who follows the Golden Soldier."
The newcomer gobbo, olive skinned, fashionably dressed, arrives near the tail end of the conversation. That... getup. It has to be... no. It can't. This one isn't kind and sweet. Actually, they're kind of grating- "Oi yeh demon biz is roight bad. Careful of dey words and dey faces. Sometoimes they right unda ya noses." A pause. "Werewolves too? I coulda sworn I heard howl las' ni', but I thin' tha' was debauchery."
She perks. "Ah, roight. Yeh so yas is. Gud. Name's Jeski. Lemme just... find this thing ri' here..." Jeski, rummages around in their robes before pulling out a red book and holds it up to Simony. "Moi favorite book. Iz 'boutta- well, neva mind that, what matta's is I swears there's some kinda hidden code up in theres. Open it up ta page twelve, ya'll see what I mean."
Jeski regards Rune. "Oh yehs. Opals in d'Fel. Mah cousin Kragl did a lil' biz wit' it, scared himself shitless. He /says/ he founds one but hes a lying shit. Word of advice, 'bout demons, neva say dey names. Or, names in general, even wit' weird fey shit."
"I was told, during my instruction, that a demon's name has power. But, they can hear you if you say their name. So saying V is a good idea." Simony rubs at her cheek. "I think the trouble here is that there may be multiple plots going on at the same time. Or that it's just a giant rabbit hole, meant to keep us guessing."
"Jeski. Nice to meet you.." She stares at the red book, her cheeks already starting to flush. "I suspect I know what sort of book that is. Uh, if he found one, and touched it, he'd likely be dead, for he'd have turned into a demon, and then been killed by adventurers, unless they were very careful in how they dealt with your cousin."
The Albino opens the book and begins to read page twelve. Her cheeks go a very dark red, and then she snorts, slapping the book down. Simony reaches out her hands to the other Goblin's cheeks, and leans in to gently kiss at one of those cheeks. Then there's a sudden rude sound as Sim fills her cheeks with air, and blows. PPPPPPPPRRRRRRAAAAAAAPPPP.
"It sounds like that's exactly the sort of thing you experienced. With enemies wearing the faces of friends." Rune responds, looking between the two goblins. As for any howling one might have heard, she just raises an eyebrow, a silent laugh shaking her shoulders. She does, however, give a serious nod to the suggestions.
The book, on the other hand, seems familiar to Simony, but not so much to Rune. It's likely the first time she's really seen one of them. "So... there's something special about this book?" She asks, oblivious to why Simony may very well be showing color on those pale features.
What gets an even /more/ perplexed look is the strange interaction between the two in the aftermath. "Do I want to know?" There's amusement there, obviously not understanding just what is happening.
Jeski grins as Simony's face turns to a crimson hue. Mission complete. She opens her mouth to retort something, then her face is grabbed. "'ey, yo, woah buy me dinner fi-BWAHAHAHA!"
Fallilng over into a giggling mess, Jeski rubs her cheek, her a smiling mess before she gets up to her feet. She grabs her brown robe, and pirouettes on the spot, spinning as the robe engulfs her entire being, whirling confluence. She morphs, grows taller. A feathered arm shoots out to grab a chair and slides it haphazardly to the table as the spinning mass takes a seat, and the robe ceases its obfuscation. Sitting there, leaning back, is a rust red and white egalrin woman with a rainbow of ribbons tied to her wings. "See, I told ya I can fool ya," she croons smoothly.
She looks to Rune, eyes squinting in delightful amusement. "Jus' a lil' harmless prankin' is all, sugar. Name's not Jeski. Th' book's a crook, but it was right great for th' look I hooked. Anywho, one of the besti, takes little ta impress me, name's Slixvah Unmesi~" she sing songs happily. "Tho', this biz I know some 'bout. Not th' demon stuff, I try ta steer clear of tha'. But th' Felwood and th' like, wit' weird magic shtuff, yeah, right up my alley."
"Maybe... have people examined the werewolves' bodies? Maybe they're not really werewolves, but demons? Or some sort of hybrid?", she asks with a straight face, while Slixvah is momentarily reduced to laughter. "Would you prefer pub food, or something fancier?", the Gobbo wonders of Slix, enjoying the twirling and colours as the Egalrin returns to her proper form.
To Rune, Simony smiles. "Slixvah is a wonderful prankster, and I think I managed to surprise her this time. It's rather difficult to ruffle her feathers. That book though... Crimson Pen material." Sim fans at her face, "So mean to use such material. Tarien must love that stuff." She laughs and sighs, "Maybe I'll give you that one. I was distracted... but you wore rainbow stuff, and had red hair again. That might make it too easy to figure you out. If I was paying attention fully." Her tongue sticks out, and she crosses her eyes.
"Harkashan probably got a good look at them at the time. He performed the burial rites after the battle." Rune explains, knowing that the two healers would likely be able to better talk shop than she would in such matters. "I didn't stick around for that part." A slight shiver is just barely visible as a bit of goosebumps rise on her forearms. Rune quickly smooths them down again.
Thankfully, her brain can't continue down that line of thought as she is far too distracted by the elaborate display of shape-shifting. Her blue eyes widen and she just stares like a child having seen a dramatic performance. "That's... impressive." Her words are an understatement.
Looking between the two, that wonderment is soon replaced by a quirk of the lip and a show of amusement. "I'm guessing the book is some sort of... illicit writing?" Someone who hasn't heard of the Crimson Pen. Gasp!
"I'm Rune." That's obviously not her full name, but it is what most everyone knows her by. "Messenger and scout for the most part. It's nice to meet you." The half-sil inclines her head slightly. "I've done some disguise work, myself, but nothing quite like that. It's some sort of magic?"
Slix snaps a finger-gun towards Rune. "Bingo, shug. Very illicit, with various amounts of quality!" she giggles, swiping the book and stashing it back into her robes. A glance is given to Simony, and the eglarin reaches up to pull and eyelid down and stick her tongue out at Simony in retaliation. "Well tha' was th' challenge ta me, and ya still were fooled!"
Abating shenanigans, Slix returns to the conversation at hand. "Hrm. Tomfoolery 'round th' Am'Shere portal. I'll keep an eye out for weirdness wit' stuff."
She perks. "Pleased ta' meet ya, Rune!" she coos. "Ya can pencil me in as a sorta scholar, arcane practitioner, healer, rhyme dropper, and whatever else doesn't fit in the circles. And ya'd be right! Totes magic mojo. Tho' all the actin' is all natural!"
Simony nods to Rune, "I can empathize, combat is terrible business, certainly very shocking. I don't know how people can keep doing it." Her cheeks redden deeply again. "Deeply illicit. Very descriptive, and I think she chose that particular book for exactly that reason, just to make me blush." She stares at the Egalrin, and laughs at the face she makes. "I think I got you, though, hmm, in return?"
"Huh." Rune could certainly understand the appeal of that sort of thing, especially with her love of good literature. However, the storyteller's daughter did tend to stick more to histories and fantastical stories rather elaborate smut. "Can't say I've ever read one. Though, I imagine if they're anything like what you describe, I know a few people that would turn interesting shades of red from reading them." The slight tap of one finger on her cheek a subtle indication that she may be considering doing just that, for amusement sake.
"I don't have a shred of magic in me, but it's always amazing to see what other people can do with theirs." Of those at the table, Rune is the most distinctly mundane in that regard.
"As I was saying earlier. Harkashan may be getting together a group to go through the portal and look for the source of the smuggling operation on that side." And this is where Rune begins to fidget again, turning the ring around on one finger. "I'll probably sit that one out, investigate things from here, maybe try to find the buyer."
Slix holds up a finger to elucidate. "Combat is terrible biz, but, sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I just swoop in ta make sure most folks get out aight." She raises a feathered brow at Simony. "Ya got me, I'll give ya tha'."
Her eyes squint in amusement at Rune. "They can be good! I'd recommend lookin' fo' the bigger books. They actual plot. Instead of jus' ya know-" Various vulgar hand gestures supplement the explanation.
A laugh breaks her out of that, but she shakes her head and focuses upon Rune. "Hrmm... well, I think I know this Harkashan. He step into th' TarRaCe? Big lava boy? I'll keep an ear out if he gets a group together." Her attention flicks down to the ring Rune is fidgeting with. Her expression softens, and she gestures to it, "Helluva spell, that one. Lemme guess, Death-Singer lava boy give ya that?" One hell of a smart bird to connect dots like that.
Simony giggles lightly at Rune. "Hold off on exposing them to the Crimson Pen. Wait til there is story based on them... THEN show it to them." She giggles a little more. "It will happen once someone gets famous enough to attract the Pen's attention."
She nods to Slix, "Yeah, you definitely just swoop right in. I kind of stumble around." The Gobbo's eyes widen to saucers almost, with the vulgar gestures. "My mother'd wash your mouth out with soap for that." Word of Harkashan has her eyebrows rise up. "He's nice and tosty warm, all the time."
"Is that a common thing?" Rune asks, her head canted slightly to the side. "That people just write smut about random adventurers?" There is still amusement there. "I don't know if I should be afraid or intrigued by that. If I ever get that kind of renown." A soft laugh follows.
As Slixvah asks over the lava-scaled Makari, Rune inclines her head, "That's the one. I've known him for a long time. He's not always as serious as he puts on, but sometimes he also needs a reminder that he isn't an old man." She rolls her eyes in an affectionate manner, chuckling at Simony's appraisal as well with good humor. "He seems to be everyone's space heater."
And a second person in short order notices her fidgeting, "Mmm. I know it's some sort of spell focus, but I haven't a real clue what it does. Things have never gotten bad enough for it to trigger, whatever it is." Harkashan has obviously not explained this to Rune. "He's a bit protective since he already had to deal with my corpse once before and probably doesn't want to do that again."
Slix wobbles a hand. "Common in that if ya make a big name for ya'self, ya might see some stuff pop up. /Thankfully/ I keep my shtick on the down low so it's a little hard. But man, if I found myself in a book somewhere, that'd /hilarious/!" Good natured about it.
She snorts at Simony. "She can certainly try!"
Her attention falls to Rune, and her jovial upbeatedness skips a beat as she pays attention. The drink she brought up is carefully poured into a beak, her taking this moment to pick apart words. "I am right sorr' ta hear ya ended up like tha' befo'," she croons, setting the empty drink down. "And... yeah. That is certainly th' component fo' a spell if someone's bein' protective." She waits a moment, mulling it. Then, "I went to a ceremony. Fo' a fallen friend. One of th' grievin' people gave a similar sorta spell focus. It's... meant ta share pain. Lessen th' load, so ta speak," she elaborates slowly.
"Oh, it's not random though. Generally the adventurers are famous, people who'd saved the world, or the city, over and over. Though I suppose it would be possible for non-famous people to get featured, if they draw attention to themselves. And yes, he is great, and he is nice to snuggle up to." Simony grins brightly, "He does like to complain about his knees, doesn't he?"
Her cheeriness is dimmed, and the Gobbo sighs. "Yes, death is a very hard thing to experience, sometimes, as is being resurrected. I can empathize, especially if you two are close. Which is obvious that you are. But, it is good to know that someone wants for you to be very much alive."
The Goblin's expression falls further and she lets out a long sigh. "To fallen friends."
Rune doesn't seem to be in any great hurry to be featured in such a novel. Not that her deeds are anything of any great importance, regardless. "It does make me wonder who all I know who have been featured, though." Not that she'll go read them. Right? Riiiight?
"Oh, don't listen to him about that. His knees are fine." Rune rolls her eyes again, "His muscles get a bit overworked by carrying around all that armor, but that's about the extent of it." She seems to have some manner of insight into the Makari Shaman.
Then, the mood seems to sink somewhat, and Rune is quick to try to ward that off. It's a place she doesn't want her own mind dwelling into for very long. "It's alright. I still struggle with it from time to time, but I'm here, and that's what matters, right?" Then, with a pause, she adds, "I'll probably have to talk to him about the spell, though. Make sure I understand what it does."
Rune nods to Simony. "And to those still with us, and to hopes for brighter tomorrows."
Slixvah chuckles. "It's a fun game ta figure out who's who." Talk of knees and armor gets her to cross her legs and lean faaar back, wings extending some to press against the floor and keep her aloft. "I wore armor once. I felt like a cat wit' a sweater. I couldn't imagine wearin' somethin' super heavy."
Mood drops. But Slix seems to be on the same page as Rune, and keeps the beat up. "Ye, ya here and tha's what matters." She affixes Rune with an appraising glance. "See tha' ya do. While tha' spell is /really/ handy, not knowing th' full extent can lead ta... bad situations. Half m'job when I'm out and about is makin' sure everythin' moves real smooth-like. That spells is somethin' I'd... use sparingly in very specific situations. But. I'm not a big makari made of lava ta take the brunt of it! Ha!"
Cheered up with her jab, she bobs her head. "Brighter tomorrows, greater luck! And while things may seem hard, its pressure tha' can make th' shiniest gems!"
"Only one way to find out.", the Gobbo says, her grin quickly returning after a somber moment. "And I guessed he was just grumping to grump." Sim nods to Slixvay, "It can be fun, if you don't catch fire from blushing so much."
A snort if followed by a giggle. "A cat in a sweater..." She giggles a lot more and sighs. "And big clonky boots, too?"
While talking, the Goblin has turned the pages of her notebook to a blank page. "To new friends." Not only said, but written across the top of the page. Rune's face is outlined first, followed by Slix', and then the details start to get drawn in.
"I can't imagine trying to wear anything too heavy. Not to mention all the lava rocks that Hark uses. So it's not just metal but stone." Rune's own armor is only one step above clothing, with a bit of extra padding here and there and a faint glimmer of a loose metallic shirt underneath.
"I'll talk to him, though. Make sure that he isn't playing the martyr." That was her job, afterall. She had already saved his life once.
And then Simony starts to sketch, the movement catching Rune's eye and she leans forward a little to get a better view of the artistry. "You're an artist?" She asks. The idea of having anyone consider her friend leads a hint of color to form on the young woman's freckled cheeks. "It's really amazing."
Slixvah chuckles. "Yes, with the biggest clonky boots. I'mma little bean pole, I'd collapse." She blinks at Rune, brows raised. "... damn, I wouldn't just collapse, I'd get crushed. Rocks? Lava, rocks? The heck. That's... pretty cool, not going to lie." The egalrin herself dons no armor under those layer and layers of robes. Arcane practitioners aren't too keen on it, anywho. Besides, she said- "But I'd totally be crushed bean pole."
A satisfied sort of chirp/hum leaves her throat. "Good," she coos to Rune before abandoning that topic. A glance to Simony, and her eyes squint in a grin. "Oh yeah. Simony is really good at it! She painted me doin' some crazy shtuff. That's- ah- how I met her, actually. At the bottom of an tipped over tower. In the Plane of Air. Totally not about to fall to a landmass-sized everstorm below. No-siree."
Simony shakes her head. "I try to be modest, my sketchwork is decent, I know, but not like .. amazing. It started with just wanting to get a little visualization of what I was seeing. I take notes. Lots and lots of notes. Then I started sketching. And realized that I loved doing it. Then I started doing faces. People's expressions are fun!" She pauses in her 'serious' sketching, to do several Slix faces with silly and goofy expressions, including a seriously overexaggerated tongue.
The Gobbo snorts, and moves to hug at Slix. "I barely hung on, glad my teeth didn't come out."
"That's pretty much like me. Half of my skills lie in mobility and wearing armor like that would just slow me down." Rune explains.
"Those dark rocks that are imbedded in the metal, they're lava rocks. He used to have a lot less of them, and the one he has up between his horns is new, too." Rune lifts her shoulders in a half shrug, as if uncertain what the change in the cleric's decorations might mean. "I never really asked about them. I figured it's probably a Death-singer thing."
She continues to watch the sketching, obviously enthralled by the skill. "You're selling yourself short. Then again, I haven't really ever seen myself drawn before so..."
Wait, "The Plane of Air? You've been to one of the other Planes?"
Slixvah giggles at seeing her sketched expressions. "Bah, nonsense, ya great at it!" she croons. A wing unfurls some to accept the hug by wrapping around Simony briefly before releasing her. "Yeah, me too! I'd have to have pulled out more tricks if ya couldn't!"
She shrugs up to her cheeks. "I dunno! Priests got they own mantra. Especially them Death-Singers. Maybe somethin' about fire makin' somethin' new? I dunno!"
She keeps an idle eye on the sketch's progress, but she grins at Rune. Slix leans forward, both arms resting on the table as her wings pull in tight behind her. The egalrin has an ecstatic, if slightly wild look about her eyes. "Ooooh girly. Yes, yes we have. We both have been, Simony more than me fo' tha' Plane of Air! Was hella hard fo' me ta fly while I was in there. So vast, so fresh! So... terribly unstable and full of madness of winds that you cannot comprehend! I've been ta th' fey realm a tinge too. That uh, don't go, unless ya prepared."
She flits a hand through the air, the ribbons on her wings rustling. "The realms between realms harbor some really neat stuff, if you know where ta look, Miss Rune~!"
"Not as much Air as Slix suggests, but I have explored that tower a bit. Was full of books, and a fallen statue of Animus. I think the gem in it's forehead ... might have been a piece of him." She gestures with a hand, rubbing at her cheeks. "I am thankful that you appreciate my work. I do as well, of course, but, I guess I am harder on myself than you two are."
The sketching continues unabated, more details going in as she flits back and forth between the two heads. She goes as far to draw in the shoulders, and detail their clothing, again doing bits and pieces at a time.
"Aside from the Plane of Air, I've been to another world. Probably follows the same sun as ours does. Could breath and everything."
"The furthest I've ever traveled is to Am'shere." Rune admits, though there is wonder in her eyes at the stories of far off places. She may just have a bit of wander-lust, or at least enough to crave hearing about other people's adventures.
"That sounds amazing. Seeing whole other worlds. Like something out of a storybook." This is exactly the sort of stories that seem to enthrall Rune. "I hope I get to see something like that, someday."
Slixvah quirks a brow at Simony's recounting of what went on in the tower, but she doesn't comment much on it. She does, however, quirk her head to the side. "Different world? Huh. Ain't done that befo'. Musta been a heck of an experience."
She turns to Rune, spying that wonder in the half-sil's eyes. Slix leans in slightly towards her. "It /is/ like a story book," she coos. "With all the weird whimsy, and terribleness that comes with it. And the ways to get in and out, heck, my venture ta get Simony was just that."
She leans back, crossing her arms. "Who knows, Miss Rune. Find yourself venturing enough, find yourself in the strange, and soon enough, you'll be right in those places. Between the pages, with your own eyes, more than a thousand thousand words could ever describe. Be prepared if you wander, but wander gleefully," she relays with a story telling cadence, a happy smile on her features.
The Gobbo lets out a breath. "Warrick managed to hit a wizard in the face with a flashbang bag. Interrupted his casting, and from what we could tell, inverted the summoning spell. So we were summoned to the target of the spell. Which was on another world. It was familiar in that there were trees and landscape and stuff... and it had this floating tentacle cushion that is called a Watcher. They are benign, and seemed to know Telamon. Was... kind of scary, we could have been stuck there but we got woooped back. But uh... yeah, it'd make for a cool story if it were to be written out."
