Visiting the Blacksmith
It's not her weapons that Huian is here to work on. She is dressed in her linens with her armor being worked on by one of the smiths in the area. I mean, it's mostly leather pieces but there are small scales made from very lightweight metal. Either way she stands to one side, quietly observing the work being done. It's simple repair-work... but she had to give some special instructions because the style does not -really- match the majority of the local construction techniques. But in the end, it's lightweight armor made to be flexible and easy to move in.
"Yes. That is perfect." she states as the smith looks up after afixing one of the small scales back into place, just making sure everything is going well.
Simony has arrived.

Mikilos humms idly to himself as he enters the Blacksmith, pausing inside the door a few moments to let his eyes adjust before peering around. "Spriggan about? Have a delivery for him. Dreke Stonebitter had some ingots, but his kid's ill, told him I'd deliver on his behalf."
A pale, white face peers into the smithy, their figure mostly hidden by a wall of the smithy. They glance about, eyeing all of the things inside the building. Stepping inside, she shuffles towards Huian. "Hey.", Simony says softly.
Ingot delivery? The smith helping Huian glances up and waves the delivery over his way. "That's for me! Right here in the basket. Lemme finish this one..." *click* "Ah-hah! These scales are so thin I worry I'll break them if I try to force it. But that one snapped right into place. Think I'

These scales are so thin I worry I'll break them if I try to force it. But that one snapped right into place. Think I'm gettin' the hang of this." he says with a grin to Huian.
She just nods her head back his way, and then turns to regard Simony as the albino appears, "Well hello there you." she says with a smile even as the smith turns to regard Mikilos, "Alright. Here is the pouch of coins for Dreke." he adds, holding it out.
Mikilos waves vaugely at the coins. "Hold on to them, Derek will be along eventually, not sure when will see him again myself." Nodding politely to Huian and Simony, he eyes the worked upon armor with casual interest.
Simony smiles at Huian, "Hello. Is that your armor he is working on? Scale male?"
Her eyes flick momentarily to Mikilos, and she overs the man a bow. "Simony Smithsdottir.", she offers by way of introduction.
While scale armor is not unknown in Alexandria, usually it is heavier. The scales made to stop direct thrusts and to disperse impacts over their numbers. The scales of this armor are less than half the thickness one would expect from such armor, and made more to be both decorative, and to turn close cuts into near misses, not to take a hard stab from a spear and walk away from it. (purely cosmetic for scales: Mechanically Studded Leather).
"It is not what you would call Scale Mail. It is lightweight scales attached to leather. Mostly for flexibility than for protection. I've had it for some time, but it was in poor repair. I finally have the funds to have it repaired."
Meanwhile, the Smith just nods to Mikilos. "So be it. If you need some work done, I can fit you in after this. Mostly just repairing damage to the connectors." he adds before going back to work.
Mikilos bows in return to Simony. "Archmage Mikilostravia Abrioudelanarchie Mithralla, though just Mikilos is fine." He nods at the talk of armor. "Will vary with your materials, mithril scales tend to be only slightly larger than that. But a great deal more costly." He grins to the smith. "Thank for the offer, but I've no need at this time."
The Goblin grins at Mikilos, and bows once more. "I have been looking for you, Archmage, for some assistance on a demon. You were recommended to me by Lord Telamon Lupecyll-Atlon. May I ask few a few questions?"
I am glad that you are able to effect repairs on your armor. Hopefully it will be as good as new. It's more for flexibility than defense? That's an interesting use for it."
"There is defense involved, but when you are able to move well, you can use the defensive properties without adding as much wear and tear as you might with plate armors." suggests Huian. But as she speaks to Simony, she eyes the archmage. Only when other intros are finished and such does she put her manners to use.
She turns to face the archmage and lifts both hands before her. Right fist presses to left palm, and she bows her head forward almost touching it to the hands. "I am Cai Huian of the Cai Academy of Swordsmanship." A pause and she adds, "Unless you are familiar with Tsang Lun academies, you likely would not have heard of it. But I am at your service Archmage .." and she slows down, trying to pronounce the name correctly.... "Abri... ud'lanar'chi?" Okay, hearing it once does not make one fluent in it.
Mikilos frowns mildly at the mention of demons, but nods. "Certainly, how may I be of assistance?" Nodding to Huian he smiles. "Mithralla is the family name. And pretty sure I've heard of the Cai Academy, but I'm not recalling any sort of details."
The Goblin lowers her voice, "If it's not too much trouble? Have you heard of the demon named... Jal'goroth?" Her voice lowers further, a bare whisper. "Do you know anything of his powers? Apparently he is an ice demon or frost demon? What kind of capabilities should we expect if we are to fight him?"
Mikilos glances over as Huian and the smith start talking shop before focusing his attention on Simony. "I've heard the name, but can't say as I know the figure. Demons are generally best avioded, deadly even for seasoned adventurers. That said, elemental resistances and immunities, as well as a general resistance to magic. A paladin with holy magic is likely your best bet, and focus on aidding that fight rather than trying to bespell a demon directly. It can be done, but chances are poor."
The Goblin nods, "Leaving them alone is best, I know, but it has gotten to a point where it must be slain. It cannot be ignored any longer." She rubs her chin. "Any other possible surprises? A group is gathering to find him, and slay him." She lets out a huff of breath. "We are also attempting to find his cultists. And... would you know of anything in or under the city that might be of interest to a demon?" Simony rubs her chin again.
"I don't mean to pester you, but you were put forth as someone knowledgeable on the topics at hand."
Mikilos nods. "The sewers under the city are... expansive. Quite a bit down there. What springs to mind is a mavvive summoning circle that covered much of the city. Parts were destroyed and made inactive, but I suspect the parts that remain might be used to avoid the conjuration ward. I'd also caution that while it's rather easy to kill a demons body on the physical plane, relitively speaking, destroying the sprit that powers it is far more difficult."
The Goblin blinks and stares at Mikilos. "How massive are we talking about? Like... house sized? Block sized?" A notebook comes out from a bag on her hip, and a small pencil. The pencil almost blurs as she writes down the things she has heard. "How could they avoid the ward? How? Is it deep enough to be outside the ward? Is it shielded somehow?"
Mikilos says, “City sized. I wasn't directly involved, but it basically allowed a Balor Lord to appear where ever he wanted in the city. This is part of why the ward was made.”
Her eyes widen. "CITY... sized? Why... why was it not entirely eradicated?" She lets out a long breath. "Are you able to tell me where I can find it? I think ... I think his cult may be gaining access to the sewers from the harbor, or elsewhere. They could be just walking in through the gates, and making their way down there. They... they summon him, his cult... if it is possible to do down there and summon him from there..."
Mikilos says, “Because it was city sized. The sewers are a labrynth, finding all the parts of a massive circle would be a feat, let alone destroying all the parts. And I do point out that's just an idea. I don't know what bits are left, if the cult knows about them, let alone can make use of them.”
"How far down, please? There has to be something you can give me."
She rubs hard at her cheeks, leaving them reddening. "We have to check, we need to check. This beast wants to cause us harm, and he is going about it under our noses. Anything you can tell me will possibly save lives."
Mikilos shakes his head. "I'm sorry but I don't know. Teleamon I think was involved with the tail end of that, and Seldan is sure to know something, if you're familiar with him."
Mikilos says, “My best advice for going in the sewers, wear high boots, bring a pack of food, and try to find an otyugh guide to bribe with said food.”
Simony lets out a breath, going still for the briefest of moments, though her pencil continues to jot down notes. She then hops forward to hug at the Archmage with an excited smile. "You have possibly given us the key to solving this problem. Thank you so much." Her cheeks flush further and she steps back. "Sorry." She bends at the waits in a deep bow. "My thanks Archmage Mithralla."
She spins then and runs out of the smithy, almost colliding with someone passing by. Heedless of the rude words thrown her way, Simony runs up the street at full tilt.
