  • Title: Distant Futures
  • Emitter: Aryia
  • Characters: Aryia, Venom, Vaera, Verna, Irshya
  • Place: The TarRaCe
  • Time: January 17th, 2022
  • Summary: The TarRaCe is packed from people trying to ward themselves from the chill of winter. Aryia is drinking at the metal bar, contemplating and processing the recent venture. Vaera and Violet joins them, soon accompanied by Verna. Aryia recounts the time in the Grey Halls, as well as the price on their bodies. She leaves out the specifics, but mentions winning a card game with the help of others for someone's soul. A shark torpedo tears out of the bathhouse to hug Aryia, Irysha, local pool shark and proprietor. Violet and Irshya meet, the latter teasing Aryia about her girlfriend. Vaera inquires more about artifice topics from Verna, gauging her capabilities. Irshya departs, as does Verna, both looking to soak in the warm waters just as Aryia hones in what seems to be Vaera's interest in someone else. The redscale explains the complications, growing a bit firm as Aryia presses some. Aryia offers a peace sandwich. It's accepted, and a large mug of ale is offered in return. It's... accepted. Aryia quickly becomes drunk as the trio speak of literature, learning that Vaera had published a banned book. The redscale is invited to spend the night at their abode as the weather was a bit too harsh to return to Mictlan. They set out, helping a drunk mul stumble out along the way.

The TarRaCe, Night.

It's a chilly, icy day outside, driving most to their homes, or into warm meals and drinks (and warm baths to boot!) to avoid the blowing snow.

Amidst the din of folk was that of a scarred mul'neissa at the metal bar. Nursing a couple of drinks, she's got a sort of distant expression on her face. Relief in it, yet also unsettlement. And, perhaps, something was just a tinge different about her.

She orders some sort of finger food with a few careful gestures.

The door opens, allowing the entrance of a woman in blue, trimmed in fur.

Gloved hands rise to carefully slip Violet's hood back from her face, revealing the sparsely streaked braid of raven hair is coiled like a scarf around her throat. Dark eyes scan the environs over the little splash of freckles, to alight on what is likely her quarry.

The human begins to move toward the bar, removing her gloves and tucking them into her belt as she moves.

There was a familiar, but strange noise coming from the bathhouse of the tarrace. An alternating heavy thud that grew steadily closer. The source was apparent as usual, as well. A tall, dark red sith-makar in a long jacket, with one leg replaced with a wooden prosthetic. She made her way over to the bar, and peeks over at the two there. "Good to see you, Aryia, Violet. Does anything bring you here aside from the drinks and food?" They ask.

A gust of wind sweeps in with the door opening to allow Verna inside. She closes the door promptly behind herself before doffing her hood and glancing about the establishment. The various conspicuous patrons in red, violet, and green catch her notice, first. Familiarity follows after.

Aryia takes a drink as a sigh leaves her, the mute rubbing at her throat as a plate of teeny tiny sandwiches is delivered to her. The proprietor has been whipping up some fun new dishes as of late.

She looks up, her distant expression losing some of its pondering look and drawing a soft smile on her lips. She waves a bit, kicking out a chair for her other. "Hey," she waves. Aryia looks a tinge different. Perhaps her face a bit more taut.

She glances over, seeing the redscale approach. "Hey, good to see you. I'm just here to... think a bit is all."

The Mourner is spotted, and waved on over to the metal bar. More chairs are pushed out for all. <Handspeech>

GAME: Vaera rolls knowledge/nature +2: (7)+5+2: 14

Violet is given a bare moment's pause at the subtle change in Aryia's countenance, the incongruity setting some of her processes running hot in the background.

She smiles at te greeting, however, and she steps up to the proferred seat before leaning in for a quick hug, "Hello, how are you doing?" she asks gently before slipping into her seat.

She glances toward the hail form the redscale and she lifts a hand with another little smile, "Oh, hello, Miss Vaera, isn't nice to see you, too, how are you?"

A glance between the two as the Mourner arrives at the door, and she answers, "Oh, I was looking for someone."

A glance to Aryia, then, at the Mul'niessa's wave, her attention is turned back toward the Mourner, who gets a wave.

"Strange, most people go to bars to forget things, or to meet people. Thinking tends to be the most often avoided action, unless it involves those one enjoys thinking about." Vaera chuckles, gesturing to the other woman. "You are looking well though, Aryia. I imagine your training has been going good?"

"I am doing relatively well, all things considered. My leg needs to be repaired, but I have a spare one for such occasions now."

The opened door gets her attention, and she too turns to wave to the mourner.

Verna returns the waves with a lifted, gloved hand and approaches. Once within comfortable conversation range of the table, she offers, "Good day to you all." She nods to each, in turn. "I trust all are well?"

rAryia pushes the plate out to everyone. A plethora of tiny sandwiches.

"I'm okay. Good in a lot of ways, a little disgruntled in others, but, I think it was worth it."

She nibbles on one of the foods, then she lightly smiles. "Thank you Vaera. Uh, I don't know what's different, I feel a /little/ bit more energetic. Not sure why. What happened to your leg?"

The mute gives a small dip of her head to Verna. "Yes, things are well, my trip to..." She fidgets a bit. "The halls went surprisingly well." <Handspeech>

VIolet seems cheery enough, the warmth of the establishment allowing the subtle rose of the outside chill to finally fade, "I'm well, thank you, how are you, Miss Verna?"

She glances to the plate Aryia pushes forward with a demure smile and a soft, "Thank you." she reaches out for a tiny sammich.

"Well enough, I would say, and I hope the day finds you well as well, mourner Verna." She greets to the cleric, before she turns to catch Aryia's handspeech. "Ah, it is a long story. I jumped off the roof of the arcanist society's library, and overestimated the structural integrity of the metal in my leg. Which is to say, I need to repair and fix it after it got bent out of shape."

"You've got a few less scars." She notes, pointing to a spot that she recognized. "I am glad your travels went well though."

The red makari looks at the plate, and shakes her head. "That is alright, if I was to share that plate, there would be none left for the others." Vaera chuckles.

Verna's focus lingers on Aryia a moment at her response. "I am pleased to hear such, and welcome you on your return. Obviously, you were judged justly." She then nods deeply to Violet. "I am quite well, thank you. Current events are preoccupying, yet well." Lastly, she looks to the red makari, downwards, and back. "Have you considered artifice reinforcement? Such might be more resilient."

Aryia rests a hand on Violet's arm for a moment overlong to get some comfort before taking a sip from her drink. "I... well. That is... something. I am glad you're alright."

The mute sighs lightly. "Yes, just a few less. Some of the people I went with gained some years. I was lucky and.. I think, lost some."

She regards Verna. "I... yes. She... listened. I met her. Or, part of her. Never thought I'd play a card game for someone's soul, but, here we are." <Handspeech>

Violet's eyes flit between the participants as they converse, her brows knitting just a touch as things get a little.... wierd.

RHer hand gently clasps Aryia's on her arm, with a little smile, but she clearly doesn't have words to chime in just yet.

From the baths comes a wee, blue-skinned figure in white robes. The Gobbo pauses, and looks around, before spotting Aryia, and squeaking noisily. Wet footprints follow her as she speeds towards the Mul'neissa. "Aryia!", she yells, "You made it!" Irshya hugs at her wetly.

"I mean, it was artifice to begin with. That's how I was able to get it to move in any normal approximation to an actual leg." Vaera chuckles again. "But I made it too light. I will have to find an alloy which can absorb the shock of sudden drops better, and while retaining the necessary rigidity. If I see Venom around again, I should ask her about that."

She was getting confused herself now. "You lost years? That would make sense with how you look now. I hope the others with you are alright."

"I have heard that ancient kul'thian wizards used to use card sized scrolls to summon magical creatures, and this often lead to the loser forfeiting their souls, so there is some precedence. Assuming that is not just the musings of some overly imaginative novelists."

Vaera steps back to another stool away. "I did not see you in the baths, Irshya, I do not know how you manage to hide so well. But they were as pleasant as usual."

Verna ahs softly at Vaera's exposition. "Apologies. I was not aware of the details concerning the existing limb. If you desired aid in some manner, I might be able to assist." Her attention then returns to Aryia with some concern. She looks to consider words yet eventually chooses to not utter them.

Aryia is about to gesture more before she hears a familiar gobbo speeds towards her. She blinks, then slips out of the chair to meet the speeding shark in a hug. A light smile crosses her lips, and she pats her on the back. To Violet, she quickly introduces. "This is I-R-S-H-Y-A. She runs the place and is my friend." She pulls away some to nod towards the pale, blue robed human woman. "Shark, this is my girlfriend, V-I-O-L-E-T."

The mute shrugs one shoulder. "The people that went with me are long lived folk. They weren't impacted too badly. But yes, we played a card game with Vardama. It was... weird. We all were really young versions of ourselves. I had my voice. I couldn't talk, though, I sort of forgot how to use it," she flushes faintly, taking her chair once more. "It's... the weirdest place I've been to. She was nice, at least."<Handspeech>

THere is a brief arching of an eyebrow as the discussion veers through artifice ambulation to Kulthian esoterica. The human watches the exchange go on, busying herself with her little sandwich.

Violet straightens a smidge at the call to Aryia, and her eyes turn toward the incoming torpedo.

Blink-blink.

In the wake of Aryia's introduction, she offers the little one a hand and a warm smile, "Hello, Miss Irshya, it's very nice to meet you!"

The Gobbo pauses and looks to Vaera, holding up her hand. "The bottoms of the pools have a similar colour as my skin. Irshya is good at hiding." Her grin is toothy, though one of her teeth is missing, but the replacement tooth is quickly filling in.

She offers a wave to the three Vs, before going back to leaning against Aryia as she talks of girlfriends, and playing cards with Vardama. "Ahaaaa, something to add to my notes on different gods. 'Vardama is a card sharp, do not wager years unless you are an Elf." Irshya giggles lightly, and looks to Violet.

"Hmmm, so you are the lady who has stolen Aryia's heart and makes her blush at mere mention of your name." The pool-shark offers up her hand to Violet for shaking. "Irshya is pleased to meet you."

"Yes, this place is quite nice, and run well." The red makari nods to the two that were hugging. "Were the pools designed as such on purpose, or is it coincedence? I will need to be more aware, it seems."

Vaera turns and shakes her head. "It is alright, you were trying to help, and I appreciate the suggestions. I have a friend named Venom who can assist me, but more who can help is never a bad thing. I am surprised a mourner would know about such matters, however."

Verna watches the familiar shark torpedo fly past. Familiar individual, at the least. She may not have witnessed the streaking sharknado prior. She then turns to Vaera to explain, "I am a Mourner, yes. I am a magus, as well. Additionally, I have studied the theories of artifice. I believe that the manipulation and utilization of mana is one and the same, despite the variations in paths of study."

Her eyes pan to Aryia, then. A pause and she subsequently states, "I must admit that I am somewhat envious of your visit and interaction with Her."

Aryia's visage does flush faintly at the mention of being one to blush at the name. "Well uh..." She didn't have much to go on that.

She returns to her seat, a sigh leaving her as she nurses her drink for a spell. "Verna knows a lot of stuff," she comments off handedly.

She glances to Verna, then rubs her arm. "It was nice, but I'd be better prepared if you do go. She told us that mortals aren't meant to be there. Something about not being able to handle it." <Handspeech>

The human gives a little fidget as she gives the sharkgoblin's hand a gentle shake, her cheeks redding even as Aryia's do.

Ahem, "I'm only borrowing it." Violet tries weakly, a somewhat awkward smile at her lips.

"It's a very nice place you have here." she concurs, perhaps to steer things into a slightly less awkward direction.

She.... isn't sure the discussion about visiting the Grey Halls is much improvement, and gives herself another few moments to think by taking another bite of sammich.

The Gobbo-shark smiles toothily at Vaera again, nodding slightly. "Yes, the pools were designed that way intentionally. So that Irshya might slumber undisturbed.

She cants her head at what Verna says. "That is many different hats to wear, Irshya thinks. So many different interpretations of magic."

The pool-shark grins beatifically at Aryia, "Ahah, you prove Irshya's point." She nods then. "Indeed, we mortals shouldn't be in the places of the Gods, only our souls should."

Violet's hand is sniffed at gently, shaken firmly a few times and then released back into the wild. "Irshya gets two blushy girls for the price of one.", she says with a giggle. Nodding enthusiastically, "Yes, we pride ourselves on comfort, good food and drink, and companionship." Her chest puffs up just a little.

"The grey halls? You went there? I am glad indeed you are still alright, but it sounds like you are lucky to leave as you did. This one hopes you accomplished what you sought." "And you sleep underwater, Irshya? Impressive, most of my kind can rest for up to an hour underwater, but not actually sleep. That must be quite useful." Vaera notes, canting her head to the small goblin.

"There is more to you than I thought as well, Verna. I thought you just a cleric, not all of those other fields. Curious, I should speak to you about such matters another time, then. Though, there is two blushing. I wonder what it would take for there to be three? Either Verna or Irshya." The makari chuckles, reaching for a drink menu off the counter, and finding a stool that would support her weight to sit in.

"My vestments make my faith plain," Verna explains the presumption as commonplace and understood. "As for blushing," she looks to Aryia and Violet, "I consider such a positive expression." A flicker upward of her lips before she gestures to Irshy. "I presume that if she wished three, she would blush, herself?"

Aryia lightly chuckles before shaking her head, nibbling on another small sandwhich.

The mute bobs her head at Vaera. "I did. I'd say more, but, ah, best for another time," she motions slowly, stealing a glance to Verna before chuckling about the topic at hand. <Handspeech>

Irshya eyes Vaera for a moment, before pulling at the cloth covering her shoulders, baring her neck. Little slits on each side of her neck open and close momentarily. "Irshya can breath under water. She prefers to stay underwater to keep her skin moist. It feels... icky when it starts to dry out." She blinks at red-scale's curious question. "Irshya doesn't blush."

The pool-shark offers a cheeky grin to Verna and shrugs.

"Irshya could leave you to it, Aryia, if you wished to disclose your adventures in the Grey Halls. Irshya does have some work and chores to do. As well, she should dress more appropriately."

VIolet reaches out to gently pat Aryia's hand and give a little squeeze before she looks to the others, still a little out of her depth in the conversation.

She moistens her lips, then finds her train of thought derailed by the sudden revelation.

Ahem, "Very well... miss Irshya, thank you for everything, it was very nice meeting you!" she offers with a little wave, "Have a good night!"

"For some reason I doubt an incapability of you being able to blush, Irshya." Vaera chuffs with a shake of her head. "So if that is the case, that would fall to you, Verna."

The red makari blinks as Irshya takes off. "Well, you are off the hook then, it seems. I will not press for details on what you went through, knowing that it was a success is enough ."

Verna bids the alacritous aquatic an adieu, though it is all but in absentia. "Indeed, Aryia is returned and can regale with grand tales another time. For now, I expect she is keen to enjoy said return in pleasant company." A nod to the pair before she attends the responsibilities bestowed upon her by Vaera. "I presume you shall be aware of for whom my features flush soon enough. Perhaps in time for Irshya to have her trio, or quartet."

Aryia gives a light smile and a nod towards Irysha has she heads off. "That's a fucking lie," she gestures with a snerk. The mute gives a thumbs up at Verna, perhaps it could be a trio or quartet soon enough.

And now that topic is brought up... she swings to Vaera. Looking like she's about to make an inquiry about finding someone to make them flush, but hesitates, and lets it slide as she remembers something. <Handspeech>

The human watches Irshya head off for a few steps before rejoining the table at large, clearing her throat behind her hand.

"So, you must have spent a great deal of time studying, Miss Verna?" she speculates.

Then, she nods, "I'm just glad she's back safely." she affirms, gently rubbing Aryia's hand with hers. Just in time to catch the curious turn toward Vaera, and so she turns the peak of an eyebrow toward their ruby scaled friend.

"I knew it." Vaera chuffs as she looks back to where the tavernkeeping cleric took off to, before she looks back to Verna. "Is that so? Well, I imagine whoever it is is quite lucky to have met such a learned and talented mourner such as yourself. And by extension, they have access to a skilled tailor through your friends." The sith-makar chuckles. Not to mention what Aryia's own companion was capable of, that could not be said at the moment.

Vaera catches Aryia's eyes, and Violet's as well accompanying it. "Sorry, unlike Irshya, I am definitely not capable of blushing. Or if I am, you'd never see it under the scales. Doesn't mean I can't be embarassed, though." She answers, waving it off as a drink arrives for herself.

Verna nods deeply to Violet and Vaera. "Indeed. Perhaps too much time spent in study, when there are other aspects to experience and learn. She has already enjoyed Aryia's skill with clothing," she adds with a glance to the full-blood, "if somewhat indirectly."

There is a segue back with, "On the matter of experiences which do not involve study, I have an appointment with the baths. I wish you all well this evening, regardless of whether blushing is involved." She excuses herself to step away, pausing after two strides to note back to them, "I shall be ware of sharks," before continuing on.

Aryia gives a small nod towards Violet, her flipping her hand over to squeeze Violet's gently. "As am I."

"This is true. She does have access to a seamstress. And Verna's interest /did/ like that dress. Perhaps I should make one for her to stun you with?" The look is met with a raised brow, a sip, and soft scoff through the nose. "And what, pray tell, has embarrassed you as of late?"

The pugilist gives a soft 'ah' sound before reaching out to pat Verna on the shoulder. "Good to see you, and have a pleasant time," she motions slowly with a smile. "May she judge you fairly." <Handspeech>

"Is that so? You made her a dress for her? I imagine it was quite impressive. Maybe she would like that, or maybe she would just like to see Verna in other dresses." Vaera chuckles. "Ah, I just left, they are quite nice today. I will need to be more wary of sharks myself."

The red makari considers Aryia for a moment. "I was just saying that I was capable of feeling embarassed around people, not that I have been. But, it is the usual. There are always strong makari around Mictlan, several females this one saw." She begins to explain. "But, there is one exceedingly kind soul this one has been looking out for. They tend to make them embarassed much more than the other way around, however."

Aryia nods once. "I did. A purple one. Her date liked it quite a lot," she chuckles silently, taking another mini sandwhich and downing that. "I was thinking of making them something matching, or, fitting for both. They're cute together."

The mute idly listens, bobbing her head along as- her ears perk up, visibly. Glowing gaze flicks to Vaera. Like blood in the water with a shark nearby, she squints faintly. "... do go on." A light smile appears. <Handspeech>

"Have a god evening!" Violet offers softly as Verna takes her leave, before she looks between the two friends and their banter.

Hmm.

"Is it someone we know?" she wonders softly.

"I do not know if you would want the dresses to be matching. They are partners, not twins after all." Vaera offers. "As such, something complimentary would be best."

Vaera snorts and takes her drink that arrived for a long moment.

"Well, this one does not wish to go too much into detail on some matters Aryia. But, I believe you are curious about the one I speak of? They are warrior caste, and, even larger than I am. Rather imposing, if not for how gentle and kind they are, usually." The red makari begins to explain. "You may know them, they're the brother of the shaman who does a lot of work in the city."

Aryia tilts her head to the side before nodding twice. She thinks.... ding! "Oh, that big bronze guy?" she signs, "Yes. I know of him. I'm good friends with his sister."

She looks to Violet and shrugs, signing, "I don't know if you know him."

She gets a small smile. "You got a thing for him?" <Handspeech>

There is a blink and the slight cant of a raven tressed head, "I don't believe we've met....?" she replies.

Violet looks between the ladies as they talk, and further, veiled scans of the corners as it were, "It's nice to know you've found someone like that, Vaera." she observes gently.

"Ah, Seyardu? He has spoken at length about his sister, and how highly he thinks of her. Which makes it more surprising he would flee from you, Aryia. Perhaps it has to do with his own experiences, and what you're capable of." Vaera chuffs.

The red makari looks between the twoat the bar with her. And they silence themself with a drink for some time. "It is, complicated, Aryia. There is another who has feelings for him, and he does for them, as well. A gnome druid by the name of Tawyse. And, I have not wished to pursue him as you say Violet, due to them not being sure about seeking such a relationship themself."

Aryia joins in the subtle glances. No random mul parents, no lingering Shadows... The bar was safe for the time being.

One hand rests on Violet's own, the mute dipping her chin in a nod as Vaera explains further. "Ah, well, I don't know. All I did was try and say hi to him at the nesting grounds. I don't blame him though, word gets around about me there."

Her brow furrows slightly. "I see. That is... certainly a complicated matter. Honestly it.. kind of sucks. I do hope it manages to get sorted out though. You, of all people, deserve some comfort." <Handspeech>

The dark eyes half lid for a moment, and Violet partakes another nibble of her sandwich at that for a moment, then, once swallowed, "It can be disarming." she notes softly.

The hand on her arm draws up the corners of her mouth a touch and she looks to Aryia, and the smile brightens a touch, before she rejoins the conversation as a whole, "Have you gotten to know him?"

"It is very complicated. And I can not feel like I deserve such comfort more than Tawyse does." Vaera notes. "It caught me off guard to be honest, I thought he did not wish to harbor feelings for others at the time. So this came out of nowhere."

"To be honest, I still do not know if I deserve it. It still does not feel quite right." She continues, silencing herself again with a long drink. "It has been, several months of knowing him, now. We share a camp nearby to mictlan, as he does like staying in the village proper. I would hope that I know them a decent amount, now. But I was proven to not know them as well as I thought by such events."

The mute glances to Violet, her lightly smiling and nodding towards her. "Can be, yes."

Aryia leans back in her chair, using her foot to catch the underside of the bar so she could go further back. Her lips twist sideways. "Damn," she motions with her free hand. "What do you mean you feel like you don't deserve it? I mean, like you've been around the guy for months. Does he at least, like, care about you?" she inquires, not pressing any history she was aware of. <Handspeech>

The human regards their red friend for a moment or two of consideration, but, her eyes swivel toward Aryia, her own muse in these matters.

Then back, "What does deserves have to do with it?" she asks gently.

"Aryia, you should know exactly what I mean, and what happened." She replies with a low growl, and another sip that finishes off her mug. The red makari sets it down and waves over the barteneder for another when they are free. "Of course he does, he is a wonderful person, with a less than fortunate past. And I would like nothing more than to see them happy."

"I am sorry. It is a long and unpleasant story. I am trying to move past what happened." She elaborates somewhat to Violet.

Aryia raises both her hands in a surrendering manner. "I know, I know. Second chances is all I'm saying," she defends before dropping that line of thought.

She pats Violet's shoulder, assuring her that things were fine. <Handspeech>

The growl doesn't seem to fill Violet with reassurance, and she lifts a hand in a placative posture at the sound.

She lets that stand for a second, then, with the feel of Aryia's hand on her shoulder, she nods, "I understand."

Her hand lowers to her lap, hovering only long enough to flick a discrete, "Parallels." <handspeech>

"And I do not know if I wish to risk a second chance, Aryia." Vaera chuffs. "I do and I do not. It may be wonderful, but there will always be that fear."

"I am sorry, that was not good to grow angered like that. But it is something I have thought about for some time, and the thought that they were the one at fault did not cross my mind."

Aryia flicks her eyes to the subtle sign before giving a faint nod. That motion telling quite a lot with how little was said.

The mute raises her hands with a shrug. "Of course. There's always that fear." A glance to Violet, then back to Vaera. "You're fine. But, if I may, I don't think anyone is at fault here. It's just... like you said. Really complicated."

She looks between the two ladies before holding out a impromptu peace offering to Vaera: a tiny ham sandwhich. <Handspeech>

There are complexities at play that are still somewhat murky, but, by and large, the situation seems tennable thus far.

VIolet, finishing her own sandwich with a tinal dainty bite, stacks her hands in her lap and looks between the ladies while they reconcile the finer points.

"How are you doing, otherwise?" she ventures, perhaps to nudge things in a new direction.

Vaera blinks and chuffs when she sees the sandwich being offered. It looked almost comical in her hand, and it quickly dissappears into their maw. She reaches for the drink that arrived, a giantborn sized mug of ale which she offers back to the mul'niessa. "They are quite good, even if they are so small."

"I am doing well enough. Winter is always difficult, but the wards around Mictlan make it much less so. And I have been even enjoying my time here. And yourselves? I hope your furniture is holding up well enough."

GAME: Aryia rolls 1d20+14: (18)+14: 32

Aryia giggles silently, but then she blinks at the offer of the giantborn sized mug. Challenge accepted. The mute takes it, her squinting at Vaera before starting to drink the mug.

And she drinks.

And drinks.

She's only able to skull about three quarters of it before she hands it back, Aryia muting a belch behind hand before smiling triumphantly. She orders another one of those for Vaera, and one is delivered before long to replace it.

"Yes, your furniture has been wonderful. Thanks a bunch. I had a sith-makar friend come over and they liked that chair a lot. We've been good. Getting settled. It's... quite nice, actually," she signs, smiling at Violet.

It was only a matter of time before that big glug was going to be a big sloshed. <Handspeech>

Fortunately, Aryia's relative mass is a known variable.

Violet smiles a bit dubiously as she watches the Mul'niessa decide to upend Vaera's proferred spirits. She shoots a sidelong look to the redscale while the mug occupies so much of her field of view, then shrugs.

"It's been wonderful, thank you again, so much for making it for us!"

"It is wonderful what can be done when seating for sith-makar is not an afterthought." Vaera chuffs, nodding as the mug is mostly emptied. She takes it back, and catches the glance from Violet. She offers the mug to the other woman. "Happy to help, really. It's something to fill my time, and I enjoy doing it."

Aryia nods a bit, he starting to gesture some, but it soon becomes apparent that the drink is already starting to hit her. "Yes. It's really quite nice. Shit, if we had a couch, I think the whole place would be perfectly kitted out."

She leans a bit against Violet, her hiccupping. "Is there like, anything else you can think of to go in... in our place? Wait... Vaera, do you just like... you said you... stay a campsite... right? So you just... camp out? Or... how is it arranged"

It's impressive to see the gradual yet steady increase of the mute's inebriation. <Handspeech>

Obsidian pools glitter in bemusement as they reflect upon the steadily worsening coordination in Aryia's communicative gestures.

Violet accepts the mug with a soft, "Thank you." as Aryia leans against her, and she takes a swig.

"I believe she's asking if you'd like to spend the night? It's terrible weather for long travel." she tries.

"Well, I am no seamstress, but if you need a couch, I could help you to make one. I am sure it wouldn't be too hard for you. Could even choose the fabric you wanted it made out of to match your place, if that's something you care about." Vaera chuffs, seeing the surprisingly quick deterioration of Aryia's sobriety. "Yes, it is a camp. A couple of tents, some for storage and for sleeping, sleeping rolls, fire pits, drying racks, and things such as that. Is that what Aryia was offering?" She asks, turning to Violet. "That is kind to offer, it would be quite the snowstorm for travel, even just to Mictlan. As long as I would be welcome, I would not turn that down."

Aryia does a big shrug, her half in Violet's lap at this point as she's slumped over. "I don't give a shit if it matches or not, I just, I don't know, think a couch would be cool."

The mute giggles some, latching onto her girlfriend. "Neeeeeat. I should visit your camp some day. Just... poof right in. Can't do that shit here... nooooooo, noooo fun allowed." She pouts massively. But it quickly goes away. "Yes! Come spend the night! We could.... do something! I don't know! We need some board games or some shit at the house. Cards maybe... Or... can just pass out the collection of Crimson books we have..." she goes off on a little drunken ramble, her face flushed red. <Handspeech>

Managing not to spill too much of her beverage as Aryia decides to take up more residence in her lap, Violet loops an arm around her beloved's shoulders and colors slightly along the span of her cheeks.

She smiles to her increasingly liberated paramour, then nods toward Vaera, "It's settled then." she affirms with a little smile, though that becomes slightly perplexed at the notion of, "Board games...?"

"You are welcome to stop by, I could hunt some boar or deer and roast it for you to come over for a meal. Simple, but, it is nice. Perhaps show you and Violet some nice secluded spots in the forest, swimming spots, things like that." Vaera offers with an amused chuff. "I don't know any board games, but I am sure I have a deck of cards in my coat somewhere."

She raises one brow as the rambling continues on. "You still read those when you have a wonderful companion like Violet here? I suppose many of the stories are quite amusing."

Aryia snickers, nodding. "Yes, that sounds fun. I'd like to do that sometimes. I like going out of the city every now and then so I can jump around. I'm like, fucking sad I can't do that in the city anymore," she gestures, looking sad for a moment as she leans into the arm around her. A glance up. "Yes, some games have like, a colored grid and pieces. Dragon chess and... golem. Wait, that last one is a card game. I should know that, I played a god at it."

The mute grins wide. "Of course I read those books, sometimes they're fucking terrible and hilarious. Sometimes they're actually kind of good. But, I'll take Violet over any of that smut anyday~" she giggles, waggling her fingers as she bats her eyes the the human woman. <Handspeech>

There's a soft 'hmmm' as the human considers that scenario and she nods, "That sounds nice. It's good to get out of the city now and then."

Violet's attention returns to her dear as Vaera muses on the literary hoices and she colors a little, "Sometimes, they have interesting suggestions." she confesses very, very quietly.

She looks into the face of the Mul'niessa and strokes her hair gently as the eyelashes bat her way, "Same." she says simply.

"Ah, dragon chess, I have heard of, but never played. That could be interesting to try, if I had the free time. But hang in there, Aryia, I believe there was well meaning with this enactment. But I understand your frustration." Vaera chuffs, reaching to pat Aryia on the shoulder before she leans back.

"True, there can be good ideas in some of them. She agrees. "Believe it or not, I actually wrote one myself, don't know if you read, it, probably not since it was outlawed. It painted several of the main characters, who were none too subtly similar to many prominent drow nobles in a poor light, so most of the copies were burnt. Which only made more people wish to read them, as that often goes." she adds in sign, with a faint approximation of a smirk. "I should pay for my drinks, I think, so I can help Aryia home with you, Violet."

<Handspeech>

Aryia snickers, her face reddening further. "Yes, they do."

The mute nods to Vaera, her sliding off the chair (Violet's lap) and standing on wobbly feet. "Yes, I know, it's for the greater good or whatever. I'm still upset about it." Though, that admittance makes her brows raise high. "... holy shit, no I haven't read that, you wrote one?!" she grins wide, looking excited. "If you still have one I'd love to read it! I was thinking of writing my own sometime soon." An admittance that would never have been signed should she be sober. And she was slowly approaching the massively sloshed stage, so who knows what would spill out from her fingertips. <Handspeech>

There is some consideration of her beverage, but, aside from a single slow swig, she doesn't make to polish it off.

Violet gives a little nod to Vaera as she notes her plan to pay and assist the pair home.

Another stroke of fingers through ivory silk, then, as the Mul'niessa finds her feet, the human in turn, does the same.

"I'd like to read it sometime." she notes to the redscale, "And thank you."

Surrepitously, she carefully encircles the elfish woman's waist with her arm in a cuddly, if supportive manner to await their friend's final business, "Maybe I should write one, too."

"I thought it was quite good. Even if it was meant to be inciting." The red makari signs while she reaches into her coat to pull out several coins that are left on the counter. "I don't have a copy, but I remember most of it. Though, it might be hard to remember all the synonyms for dark skin and white hair."

"I feel like you would be a good writer, Violet. And you too, Aryia. And, having a good knowledge of the type of book does make it easier to write."

Vaera stretches as she leaves her stool, and she bows her head to the pair before her. "I did not realize that the drink here was so potent, I will have to keep that in mind. But that is done. I can carry Aryia back if it gets too bad."

<Handspeech>

Aryia blinks at Violet, though her frame goes lax as the hand threads through her hair. She all but flops against Violet, using the human to prop herself upright as she was getting ever more inebreiated. A look of excitement dawns across her bleary face. "Ooooh...! Yes! That's a good idea!" she giggles. "Maybe we can share it later secretly with the other series!"

The mute sighs, frowning. "Damn, I guess I'll just have to find a copy of it somewhere. Maybe it's not banned here. Will dig around for it. I want to read it." Though, she shrugs. "I just drank like, six beers in one go with that. I'm small and... it's... easier to..."

The pugilist takes a few tries to get her jacket buckled back together, but fails a number of times as her fingers fumble. She gives up.

"Let's... go home..." she declares, pointing towards the exit as she falls forward, only to catch herself late on languid steps. <Handspeech>

"No challenge too great, my love." Violet remarks softly with a somewhat wry expression, doing what she can to support her well leburicated darling's movements. <sildanyari>

The brunetter looks to Vaera and bows her head, "I think we should be ok, if you take the other side?" before she draws her hood back up over her features, then, seeing what it is the Muln'iessa is struggling with, tries to awkwardly get her buttoned up, but, if one hand is focused on support....

Vaera nods, and heads over to where Aryia was stumbling to the door after making sure the payment was accounted for. The huntress towered over Aryia, and she kneels down in front of her, buttoning up the jacket. She lingers a moment and chuffs, reaching to ruffle Aryia's hair before she rises back to her feet, tucking one arm under Aryia's. "Least you know they aren't watering down the drinks here, not that I imagine the proprietors ever would." Vaera chuckles. "Let us be off. The less time out in the snow, the better. I know alcohol can cause trouble regulating temperature. So make sure to keep her warm, Violet." The makari teases, before she reaches to open the door, meeting an immediate chill breeze before guiding the alcohol addled Aryia outside.

Aryia makes a soft, giggling "Heeehee.. heee..." at the ruffle before the trio ventures forth.
