  • Summary: Cryosanthia is investigating oozes at Mithralla Merchandise when Delilah arrives, and her sister Donna comes along as a bodyguard. Delilah is delivering the magic boots that Cryosanthia ordered. There were some delays due to bandit attacking the supply caravans. The sith is very impressed with the craftsmanship, and pleased to have boots that match her gloves. They go outside for her to try them out. The increased speed is evident. She then attempts to get past Donna with some acrobatic maneuvers. She's less effective in this, but still happy with the results. They briefly discuss current events, and the twins are quite concerned that there is a Duke of Hell wandering around. They also let slip that they are being hasselled by a captain of the guard. Cryo speculates that he might have romantic interests towards them. The twins are repulsed by this idea.

Here, a large wooden structure has been built. Its somewhat eccentric yet elegant design suggests its owner may be of the arcane persuasion. To the side of the main structure is a small corral to for horses or wagons. Before the central building, a massive sword emerges from the earth. A sign upon it reads: "MITHRALA MERCHANDISE."

Inside is a small seating area with several comfortable chairs. To the back, an unobtrusive but businesslike sales counter, and two large signs. One asks patrons to please wait here and not disrupt those inside the lab. The other offers a lab rental at a very reasonable rate.

To the left and right are a large set of doors. The doors on the right lead to a large room which takes up most of the building. Several long tables are scattered about, many with small tool racks. A small forge sits off to the side. Unlike the average workshop, maps of celestial bodies and guides to the elemental planes line the walls. Large frameworks of brass, silver, and crystal occupy space between the tables. A large shelf dominates the far wall, the containers upon it sporting such labels as "wyvern bile," "sulfur," "tiger's tears," and other exotic items. A glass-covered hole in the roof, set with mirrors, offers direct sunlight, or moonlight, to shine upon various projects.

The doors to the left lead towards the direction of the mountains and what is reported to be a sildanyari-style ball room. Wizards.

During regular store hours, a young Llyranesi man, Belhan Mithralla, keeps an eye on the shop and the lab. When not cleaning or helping a customer, he can usually be found reading some book from the library.

A message made its way to Delilah, from Cryosanthia, inquiring on the status of her order and updating her location. The sith seems to be moving up in the world, literally, although metaphorically perhaps more sideways. She updates her address as being 'Cryosanthia's Room in the Temple of Daeus' to 'Cryosanthia's Room, at Mithralla Merchandise'. Moving out from under divine grace to arcane oversight, and further up the mountain that is part of Alexandria.

The white-scaled sith herself is sitting in the front of the store with a collection of bottles of water, and appears to have returned from somewhere."

Well, the note's instructions were pretty easy to follow, and so the twins make their way there before going for lunch. Delilah enteres first, and holds the door open for her sister. "...probably ought to check to see if there's any good jobs on offer at the guild this afternoon," she says, mid-sentence as she's entering. "Just, y'know, if it's anything in the sewers again, they'd better be paying at least triple, 'cause that is never anything but totally gross."

In one hand, she's holding a wooden box; certain parties might have a pretty good idea of what's inside. The box is well enough made on its own, with some fancy engravings on the sides. Hey, presentation matters when you're handing off enchanted footwear. You have requested RPP: 'Conversations over Tea ' from staff. Please allow for some time to process it. Do not page staff about it--you will hear back soon. RPP requests will be publicly posted unless you let us know otherwise by replying to the queue.

After Delilah enters... A nearly exact copy of Delilah. Same build, same face, same eyes... the only real difference is in bearing, heair, and dress -- this new one slouches more, is black of hair, and wears black-and-red scale armor and oversized, battered gauntlets studded with short, thick spikes.

"Sewer jobs are desperation jobs," she grunts. "Rather play caravan guard to Happy Valley." Once inside, she takes up her place behind and slightly to one side of Delilah, giving off very obvious bodyguard energy. Yes, even in the middle of a shop in Alexandria.

"Sewers? Oh!" Cryosanthia's attention is drawn before the bell heralds their entry. She turns, smiling. The sith is quite different since Delilah last saw her. She almost seems like a different person. She's taller, has magnificent horns, intriguing patterns of glacial blue scales mixed in with her white ones, and she's wearing wizard robes. The robes are mostly plain, but have a few pattern sections which repeat snowflakes and dragon-eyes. Her build seems different as well, but that may be the clothing.

It is her though, she's wearing the white-scale leather gloves Delilah created, complete with the Dragon Eye marks on the back that Cryo was very particular about. Seeing the pair enter she turns their way, making a small curtsey. "Delilah! You got my message! Are they ready? I've been so eager for these. Also, if you are going in the sewer I must warn you. And, Delilah's Bodyguard. Nice to meet you. This one is Cryosanthia. Are you... related?"

The golden twin chuckles softly, and shakes her head. "Hello Cryosanthia," she replies, grinning. "And this is my twin sister, Donna, and my favorite person in the whole world. ...She's not my bodyguard, but she has more common sense than I do so I guess it sort of winds up that way by default at least sometimes." She pauses, and nods her head. "And yeah, Donna, sewer jobs are for the desperate, and we don't need that nonsense anymore. Caravan Guard duty sounds relaxing though, even if it's probably boring."

She holds the box out in front of her, outstretched for Cryosanthia to take it. "One pair of boots," she explains. "Enchanted as desired, and only a couple of days late. ...The caravan with some of the components I needed got delayed by bandits." She pauses, and purses her lips. "Wouldn't... have been a problem if Donna and I had been guarding it, though... just... saying."

Donna looses an amused snort, bobbing her head as her sister introduces her. "We look out for each other," she... clarifies? Perhaps to her that says everything that needs saying, but it's definitely another way in which the two are night and day.

At Delilah's annoyance, the dark twin looses a brief chuckle. "If you want a job done right... Next time, maybe we peel the hides ourselves?"

The white-scale eagerly takes the box, nodding, her sapphire eyes catching the light, "I've been in the sewers twice, met a Duke of Hell, an ooze made of body parts. There are cultists and a giant summoning circle there too. City workers haven't been down in months, keep never coming back. I'm not strong enough to deal with it. Of course, my one caravan guarding job had a demon attack too."

Eagerly she looks at the box, then opens it to reveal the boots inside, "Oooooh! These are beautiful. This one must try them on and out." She sweeps over to one of the chairs and sits in it. She flips her robes out of the way and extends her foot. There's pale blue scale patterns down her legs. Her hands go through a quick gesture, her gloves glow and she prestidigitates the dirt off the bottom of her feet. Sith feet of course, have the impressive pads and large toes that look like they belong on a raptor. She takes out the first boot and starts working with the straps and laces. As boots go, it's unusual in that Cryo' toes are exposed, making it a little like a sandal with straps between them, at the sides and around the back of her footpad, but it also has a leathery jambeau sleeve that goes up to her ankle and continues to below the knee, with her dewclaw exposed. Lots of lacing and straps too. The sith works it on.

"There's a Duke of Hell in the sewers?" Delilah turns to her sister. "There's a Duke of Hell in the sewers? since when? That's definitely new." She pauses, watching as Cryo is busying herself with trying on the boots. "Should fit perfectly, they're to spec," she adds, before looking back to Donna. "There's a Duke of Hell in the sewers. I suggest we go find a nicy, comfy, easy adventuring job, that's not in the sewers. Maybe we should pick up that ticket for negotiating with the tribe of hill giants, to get them to stop poaching sheep and cows from the farmers up North? That might be a good job."

Delilah holds her hands up to either side, and shrugs lightly. "I think I figured out why people go down into the sewers and don't come back, though," she observes. "So. How do the boots feel? Anything need adjusting?"

"....There's a Duke of Hell in the sewers," Donna repeats, as if she was pretty sure she hadn't heard what she heard. "...Yeah suddenly tryin to host a tea party for giants don't sound half bad."

Shaking her head, she looses a deep, blustering sigh. "This fuckin' city, I tell you... Anyway. What's the boots do, D? Ain't seen you lock yourself inna workshop that long before."

Cryosanthia wiggles her ankle as she gets the boot on, and tightened, "Feels good, let me get the other one." She pulls the second out, and on, drawing it up her leg flexing her toes, then adjusting the straps between them. She buckles up.

"Yes, Lord Eclavdran. He's being summoned, by cultists I think. That's why I was down there. They've summoned him four times. He normally appears human. There are several human seeming demons in the city actually, I know where one other one is. It ties in with the Fae Mistress of the shard tower."

Cryo casually explains as she gets everything set, then stands. She bobs a little in place, "they feel just right actually. I don't think anything needs adjusting? Do they look okay, do you see anything wrong?" She lifts her robes enough to show them off.

"They're to help me run and jump, I should be a little faster and a lot more acrobatic now. We could test them outside?"

Delilah opens her mouth, about to answer Donna's question, when Cryo beats her to it. "...That," she answers. "They'll let her run faster and jump higher." She pauses, and scratches the back of her head. "And yeah, they did take a fair bit of effort. Part of the time spent was trying to figure out if I could substitute some components, in case that caravan just... didn't make it, but fortunately that one sorted itself out."

"Yeah, we could go outside? Up to you, really!" Delilah chuckles softly. "So... hey, wait, what? There's demons running around in the city, too? I mean, I don't like to judge anyone based on their race, but /seriously/? ...Okay, no wandering around alone at night."

"Seconded," Donna says, firmly. "An' no more'n a couple beers a night, for either of us."

"There are. Usually in the Temple District, or near the Soldier's Defense. If you can get true-sight, you'll see them without their human...ish glamour. All the ones I've seen have a human form, I suppose they could be orcs or something. I'd say 'use detect magic', except that'd light up a lot of adventurers. All my clothes are magical at this point. It's something that needs to be followed up on." Cryosanthia explains, and as if to demonstrate her wizard robes switch to something that looks more like a training gi, loose but also constricting at elbows, knees, ankles and wrists.

Her build has changed, she's heavier through the hips and thighs, more muscular overall. While she moves light and quickly, there is a lot to her. She bobs her head politely, grinning, making a push gesture to encourage the twins to move outside. "I could try jumping over you... but lets say I'm not trusting my skill as much as I trust the boots right now. The courtyard will be ok."

"The caution is appreciated," Delilah acknowledges. "I mean, I don't really like getting kicked in the face, even if it's by accident. Still hurts, right?" She backs up a half-step, but really, she just waits for the moment, making a half-turn towards the door. "After you," she offers to Donna.

"Yeah, uhm, no getting drunk for a while. Might be a good time to get out of town." She pauses, glancing sideways at her sister. "OOOOoooOOooOooor... it might be a really good time to make some easy cash. This'll get out eventually, and then there'll probably be nobles and merchants all over the place, willing to pay large stacks of gold to guard them and their stuff."

Donna's eyes narrow at her sister's speculation, but puffs out a breath as she passes by, heading through the open door. "Fine," she says, sourly. "But only cos letters o' reccomendation from noble folk shut crazy Guard Captains up better. C'mon." Pausing, she glances over her shoulder at the Sith. "Not for nothin', but if you really wanna put them shoes to th'test, I'm pretty good at not gettin' my face kicked in when it matters."

Cryosanthia follows the two outside. She does a little bit of limbering, leaning from side to side, crouching down, then standing again. The sith tilts her head, looking at Donna, "Hmmmm... That will be a cool thing. Let try out the basics first."

Suddenly, she's off. As she's nearly 7' tall and has a long tail, there's the expectation she isn't going to explode into movement, although she clearly is capable. Without warning the sith is racing around the edge of the courtyard and the additional speed the boots provide is quite evident. She's pretty fast on her own, with her tail lashing and ruddering, now it's enhanced. She returns to the pair. "Yes! So much yes! I am going to run down people now! Let me try a few things with the wall, then we can do something more combatty."

Delilah holds up one finger, "And that is an extremely good point," she nods to Donna, "And that might just come in handy. A certain someone has been quiet for a little while but I'm sure that's not going to last forever either."

And then they're out in the yard; Delilah adopts a position near a wall that isn't being run past, and tips the brim of her hat upwards. "Don't forget, the boots only enhance," she points out. "The raw potential is all yours. The enchantment only enhances what's already there, so make sure you give yourself full credit, too." She clasps her hands behind her back, and watches she Sith as she's preparing the next feat of physical prowess. "And... yeah, Donna is a lot better at not getting her face kicked in than me. I just stand back from that kind of stuff."

Outside, Fair weather clouds sail across the blue sky, propelled by light breezes from the west. It's warm in the sun, cool in the shade, and the air is clear and dry.

In the courtyard, Donna simply finds a handy lamppost to lean against, crossing her arms and watching Cryosanthia take her laps with a raised eyebrow. "...Huh. Might be as I'll want boots like that for me," she murmurs, curious to see where this is heading.

"I will remember, yes." Cryosanthia nods. She tries the next few things with the wall, kicking off it, twisting in mid air, landing. Some moves which are clearly meant to be dodging around a blade, as well as a dive roll where she pops up quickly again. She uses her tail like a cat would, and at times another limb, to help kick her in a direction by slapping the ground. "These are great."

"Okay, Donna, how about I try getting by you and you try tagging me, and if I manage that I try again, going over or under you." The white sith drops into a ready crouch, her weight bouncing from foot to foot.

Pushing off the lamp-post, Donna ambles further into the courtyard. Once far enough away from furniture and architecture, the dark twin slides her feet into a wide ready stance, her heavy gauntlets raised up in the ready stance of a born, trained, and joyful brawler.

"Sounds like good rules t'me," she says, tilting her head to one side. "Taps only, cos' I ain't much for punchin' folk what ain't earned it."

Woosh! Cryosanthia is a white streak moving towards Donna, head low and running with raptorish speed. She's playing, but... she means it. The sith is very committed in her fighting. As she gets in close she makes a small wince. Something went not quite right with a step, her ankle didn't twist but it was close and the dodge wasn't much of an effective one. She's open and easy for the a tap.

The follow-up though, is graceful. She dives right at Donna, there are no feet to the face as Cryo clears 6' and sails over the dark haired human. If she had wings, and perhaps didn't have clothes, she'd be a great stand=in for a small dragon flying overhead. There's a lot of lizard in the air, like there shouldn't be, and she lands smoothly on the other side.

And on the approach, the tap is too easy not to take; a pair of fingers flick out to boop the Sith's snoot, and the expression on the dark twin's face is the closest thing to an honest smile yet seen today. But while the acrobatics carry Cryosanthia out of reach, it's quite clear that Donna does not in the least begrudge the miss. "...Yeah," she says, as the airborne lizard touches down. "Gonna hafta look into gettin me a pair of those."

Cryosanthia is rocking her foot, "I think I need to tighten the ankle strap. That was much easier than it usually is." She's also rubbing her nose. Getting touched on it, is a distraction. She seems to be all smiles though, a huge and happy amount of teeth.

"I am very satisfied! They are all I was hoping for. Things are going to be a lot better. Do you do regular clothes too? I need a simple dress, really a short shift. It's hard to find something in Alexandria that fits right," She waves her hand in an encompassing way at her tail region, "I keep running into Anti-magic fields and the AnyGarment sleeves turn off and I'm left wearing just gloves. My old leather armour is just terrible to wear now too."

Cryo prances closer, "I can tell you about a bunch of other things going on, there's a meeting to deal with the Fae Mistress. I was curious who you meant, that hadn't shown up too recently."

"Just a Guard Captain what seems dead set on either running us out of town, or locking us in jail," Donna says, mouth twisting into a bitter-lemon grimace. "An' I don't even know why, 'cept for when we get bored we like to crash noble parties. Time was, not all that long ago, he'd be tryin' to get me to rat out on D, or gettin' her arrested for made-up charges. I'm pretty sure gettin' bawled out by the magistrate took some wind out of his sails, but, it's been too quiet lately an' I don't like that one bit."

Something about that makes the sith tilt her head, and the little dragon inside her perks up and listens intently. Cryo hears the distant call of the Crimson Pen. She smiles, "Are you sure he's not interested in you? That this isn't some hamfisted way to get your attention. You're thinking about him and he's not around, that's, the first part of a plan. Next you'll find he's become the head of the Night Watch, or been given titles, and somehow he'll have a way to conscript you as deputies and you'll be forced to accompany him on some dangerous mission. Then one lonely night, when it's dark and raining he'll..."

The poor palescale really needs to get out more. Cryosanthia breaks off suddenly, best to save it all for the page. She crouches to adjust an ankle strap, "Ahh... he'll be a jerk, like you knew he was all along."

Donna makes a sound at the back of her throat, and lurches just a bit. "....Ugh," she says, pressing the back of one gauntlet against her face. "Jus' threw up in my mouth a little. I mean, *maybe* he's so obsessed 'cos he wants one'r'both of us in 'is bed, but I'd rather actually hug an otyugh after feedin' time. Just.... *no,* oi."

"I understand." Cryosanthia keeps bouncing from foot to foot, she really seems to enjoy the feeling of the boots. She sighs happily, "I want to just run, and swim, and get away from these problems. It's been... a long time. You're likely right, that he's otyugh effluent. You'll find someone, if you're looking. If not you've got Delilah to look out for."

"There is... a new vampire about, but if you get the opportunity, don't kill her, try to capture her. It's important." The sith adds, enigmatically.

"...Vampires're a little bit over our pay grade," Donna says, arching an eyebrow. "But okay."

She doesn't seem to have much to say, regarding whether or not she's looking for anyone. "Sounds like you been to th'wars an' back, don't mind my sayin'."

"I've been... away." The white-scale sith straightens in her posture. Her training clothes switching back to the layer wizard robes. She exhales and closes her eyes, she seems calm, but there's something... her eyes open again. Her words are very even, "It was a long time, and a lot of pain, and then I came back here. It's hard to say which hs been worse. I feel like I've fallen off unhappy mountain and hit every rock ledge of agony on the way down. I keep throwing myself in, because I'm not smart enough to know what to do different."

"It's bad, it's really bad in Alexandria. I was in the Temple of Daeus, when Kol attacked, twice. I know some remain faithful but it's hard to when the gods seem to be leaving it up to us to defeat lesser gods. I can't even figure out how a glass of water works."

"The boots will help! Maybe I won't get smacked around so much. And I look awesome! Thanks so very, very much." Cryosanthia bows. "Got it," Donna says. "Glad my sister could help, an' here's hopin' it gets better. Just... be careful, yeah? I know I don't know everythin' going on, but... Never went wrong keepin' an eye out for trouble an' ready to leg it if things get too bad."

"This one runs faster now! So I will try that." Cryosanthia grins, "Thank you both. I have to get the water back inside, then go looking for my friend. Good luck guarding the caravans, to the both of you."

With a cheerful wave, the sith heads back inside the shop.
