RP-A Neighborly Question
It's Variday, Callem 29 12:57:27 1018. The full moon is up. The tide is low and rising. Towering white clouds drift slowly through the blue sky. It's hazy and hot, and the glare of the sun seems to drain the color from the landscape.
A03: Fire Lodge
Ga'Elian walks into the Lodge, and looks around for any familiar faces, as he extracts a bag of coins from the folds of his clothing. As a Sildanyari, he might seem a bit... *smaller* than this establishment's usual clientele, but his gait is confident, even swaggering.
Kaj is sitting over at the biggest table, alone. He's taken the everburning torch out of his hair(!) and is using it to illuminate...a book. Who reads at the Fire Lodge?
Ga'Elian spots someone sitting with a book, and recognizes him from a week ago or so. He approaches and says, "Mindest if I join thee?" He beckons for a server.
Kaj starts, but smiles as he recognizes the familiar face. "Of course, Galoan," he says, mangling the name but trying. He covers the book with his dinner-plate-sized hand, but it's pointless so he moves it. It's a Kulthian tome. Looks like it has a lot more pictures than words. He smiles sheepishly, being at eye level to Ga'Elian even though he's sitting.
Ga'Elian takes a seat and plops the coinbag in front of him. He says, "Please just call me Elian. How is thy raven friend?" When the server interrupts, he says, "An oruch läger, please, and for my friend here...?"
Kaj shakes his head, "Just water, please. This is challenging enough with all my wits about me, friend Elian." He smiles, "But thank you. Shard is with his family; he dislikes the indoors. What brings you here?"
As the server takes the Sylvanori's coin away, Ga'Elian says, "Well mightest thou ask, for truly I came in hither with a specific purpose. To wit: I am hoping to hear tales recounted to me of actual fights with demons, by those who were eye-witnesses and survived to tell the tale. Mightest thou be one such?"
Ga'Elian takes a draught from his mug as soon as the server brings it and Kaj's water. He says, "Oh, I would not distract thee. Please attend to thy studies. As for Lord Svarshan, I ran into him just the other day, and have already profited from his experience. I thank thee, but will leave thee to thy book. Good day."
