A04: Flame's Hope Theatre

Ga'Elian comes walking into the Theater looking thoroughly confused at a playbill that he received upon admission. Being here for the novel experience of watching the type of show that entertains city-dwellers, he is not carrying all of his customary weapons, merely the dagger strapped to his left thigh and the quiver slung over his right shoulder, but with no bow apparent. Neither is he wearing armor right now.

Sorscha says, "I wouldn't go in there, Ga'Elian. One of the playwright's threw me out for going in there." she then looks to Aldean. "I'm trying. Doesn't feel like it sometimes."

Yelrona steps out of a shadowy corner to greet the others, slipping a folded-up piece of paper in her back pocket. "Good evening, all! Here for the show?"

At that, Aldean laughs and looks over at the newcomer. "Rehearsal still, mates. AIn't a show here, far's I know." He tilts his head, curiously. "Where'd ye find that lot?" he asks, gesturing to the papers in Ga'Elian's and Yelrona's hands. He does start at Yelrona's appearance, and eyes her fairly hard.

Yelrona smiles a secret smile. "Ah, yes. My mistake, how foolish of me. So... how are rehearsals coming along?" she asks Aldean, returning his gaze guilelessly.

Ga'Elian looks up at the others and says, "The gobber on the steps outside that took my admission fee said that this would tell me about the show. I think he said it was entitled "The Fleecing of the Rube." Anyway, I can't read this. He must have given me the Goblin-talk version."

Yelrona chuckles. "Let me have it, Ga'Elian," she offers, extending her hand. "I'm pretty sure I can convince your... cashier... to offer you a refund in short order."

Sorscha says, "Could be worse. the gobber could've been an artificer. Which means there would be an explosion shortly.""

"Aye." Aldean's still watching Yelrona with a good deal of interest, and only glances at the "playbill". "Might go an' get that one is refund. If he'll not give it to ye, might be able to convince him m'self."

Ga'Elian looks relieved and embarrassed. "Oh, I see. I must be such a fool." He holds the playbill out.

Sorscha shakes her head. "not a fool. You looked upon the perceived good nature of another....Nothing wrong with that."

Yelrona shrugs. "It's not difficult to be taken advantage of when you're in an unfamiliar environment. If we were camping in the woods I'd rely on you to steer me past poison weeds and berries. Same here," she says, taking the offered "playbill" and chuckling over it. "Goblin-talk, indeed... but surprisingly well-spelled."

"And ye'll find a good many as'll do jes' so, around here." Aldean hasn't moved from his easy lean. "If he ain't give ye yer coin back, let me know, aye?"

Yelrona looks over Aldean with much the same expression he had a minute ago, looking at her, and smiles. "Perhaps we should talk to the enterprising young gobber together?" she suggests, amused.

Ga'Elian leaves the paper with Yelrona and glances at the others as if considering some question. In a moment, he looks resolved, and turns to return outside again. "I supposed I'd better go quick, or I'll have to track him down. Which I could possibly do, but Why?"

Sorscha looks over towards Yelrona and Ga'Elian. "Don't rough him up too much. Gobbers' life spans are short enough."

Yep, Aldean's still watching her, but more with amusement than true rancor. "Think I'd be after watchin' the master at work, lass," he offers with an outrageous wink. "Though if he ain't there, track 'im down. Ain't got to rough him up. Find the rat an' let 'im know ye'll find 'im wherever he goes, an' I'll wager he'll not try ye again."

Ga'Elian prays, "Hear me now, oh great Mahal, god of hunters. Help me this day to track my quarry, even the gobber that just minutes ago did sell me this lie. Grant me this boon, by the power of the Great Stag whose holy touch Thou hast put upon me." At this, a ghostly image of great stag's antlers appears issuing from Ga'Elian's head, then immediately begins to fade away. He turns to face Yelrona, and says, "No, of course not." He grins at Aldean's remark then exits.

Yelrona sighs. She doesn't think much of the ranger's chances of following one pair of feet among so many in the city, but then again, she lacks his skills. Still, she thinks she'll likely do better using her own methods. "Not many scammers do the theatre-ticket con," she muses. "After all, it really only works on complete novices. It won't be too hard to find out who was working the Hope's steps tonight."

Sorscha tilts her head at Ga'elian's prayer....and chuckles at the horns. "Good luck in your hunt, sir. Just....like I said, don't rough him up too badly. If at all."
