- Warehouse District - Evening
Everything is half hidden and grey in the fog that pervades the densely narrow streets of the warehouse district, the setting sun barely piercing through.
Though, such fog isn't a problem, as the current point of interest was the rooftops above. The barely seen sun is obscured by a figure leaping across from one roof to another, them tucking into a roll before continuing on at the same breakneck pace. A scarred mul'neissa woman in a green jacket skids to a halt as they end up against the river, them flailing their arms so they don't lose their balance. They pivot on a heel, bleed out their speed, then rest on a back foot to scan where to go next as they bounce on the balls of their feet.
Meanwhile, some travel somewhat more.. mundanely along the narrow paths below, between the buildings. Aya is not direct in her route as her path varies and turns, but neither is she making overt efforts to conceal herself. In some circumstances, such as to outside observers, this might make her more conspicuous than less. It could be aimless wandering, or it could be a patrol through the district.
The acrobat is just about to resume their tumbling show, but they stop fast as they spy a familiar figure allegedly wandering about. She smiles, inhaling to whistle, but ends up getting a better idea.
Suddenly, the fog gains a silvery brightness as an orb zips past the meandering figure and smashes against the ground in front of it, it scattering into ambient moonlight.
A pair of shining eyes above is matched with a red tongue sticking out. As well as a 'pbbbbpt'.
Aya stops short as the orb zips past and is already starting to turn as it spatters into light. Her own eyes snap upwards, honing in upon the shining others. And the raspberry, of course. Her expression shifts from wary to brow arching (and pulling an uneven smirk with it). Rather than call out, she gestures a curt, "Enjoying yourself, sister?" A moment later, she takes several strides towards that same building before leaping upwards at its wall. A planted push-off there, a grab here, and she alights upon the same roof.
Aryia grins before pulling herself away from the ledge and backing up to leave space for her sister to fill the spot next to her. She offers a hand to pull her up, though it's not really needed considering their specialties. "Yes!" she flicks with her spare hand, still bouncing on the balls of her feet.
She looks about the rooftop-scape for a spell before motioning more, "I've been ironing down a thing. Changed up my training a bit. What are you doing around here? Last time you were here...-"
Was during the whole fiasco with a demon in a temple and a lot of high strung emotions.
She just smiles happily. <Handspeech>
Needed or not, Aya accepts the offered hand and makes use of it. Once up and perched, she makes a vague gesture before being more descriptive. "Patrolling. I do not expect to just happen upon it, much less what to do with it... but you know how well I am at doing nothing." A brow arches again. "I assume you are not ironing dresses up here. What 'thing?'"
Aryia's warm smile turns more into a slant as she sighs, nodding at the face of reality. "Yeah, you're terrible at keeping still," she bluntly motions before rocking on her feet, a silent snicker leaving her.
She shakes her head and bounces on the balls of her feet. "I figured out a thing. Sort of a thing. Really a thing I haven't seen anyone do. Ever. My boat helped me figure it out. Anyways, I think I carved out my own method, finally."
She holds up a finger and takes a few steps back, bounding along the way and light on her feet. She puts her fists up like so many times before, though, instead of barreling forward in an onslaught against an invisible foe, she spins around and ducks low, fists swinging at wide and obtuse angles.
Twisting on a foot, she bounds up, all but flipping on the spot to drop a kick down against nothing that has her ending up on the floor. A disadvantageous position, though it seemed to be no worry to her, as more twisting and twirling strikes came from below, and she kicks backs up onto her feet in the same motion.
She finishes by thumbing her nose and panting from exertion. "Basically, I'm going to be the most annoying bitch to deal with if someone wants to fuck with me." <Handspeech>
Aya stands by as she steps back, then observes the motions. Several motions. One continuous? They do tend to run smoothly together. Afterwards, Aya claps her hands together lightly, thrice. "Impressive." Both brows then lift before she adds, head tilting with the rhetorical inquiry, "but I thought you were already the most annoying bitch to deal with?"
Aryia throws her head back and snorts. "You're goddamn right," she snaps a finger towards her sister. "Thanks. Aside from that and taking the boat out on joyrides, I've yet to do much. Though there is this... Witch Queen we're planning on dealing with," she rolls a shoulder, looking aside. "Cropped back up. Leading a bunch of kobolds astray. Going to go kick her teeth in and more. Just waiting for the plans to come through." She cracks her knuckles. "How's Daed?" <Handspeech>
Aya lets the good-natured rib fade with her bemused smirk as she catches up with Aryia's recent events, or rather upcoming plans. "Kobolds? Related to-" the signs halt before completing the string and she shifts to the question asked of her. "He is as well-dressed and as foolish as ever. I..." another pause though she continues this time, "I look forward to a time where we might relax in peace." She then sends the impetus back to Aryia with the easy "How is Violet? Have you given her a ride upon your ship to feel the motion of the ocean?"
Aryia shakes her head with a brisk, "No, not related to her," before continuing on. "Different clan that got split up in basically civil war. Witch Queen took over and is treating them terribly. Going to do a three pronged attack to keep them occupied, while me and some others go for the Queen. Get rid of her and rescue a guy. Been a long time coming."
She smiles as she hears things are well, but she blinks. Staaaaares.
"She is well. Helped me get the fucking green out of my hair. And she has yet to go on my boat."
...
She just pinches the bridge of her nose and sighs heavily, shaking her head. <Handspeech>
Aya may be picking up habits from her sister... or perhaps she is just in a more mirthful mood... or attempting to be. A nod. "Good. For the kobolds and your hair." A rather long pause followed before she shifts gears, albeit possibly with some grinding. "I informed the Silverguard of all that transpired. Serene, that is. I do not expect Seldan is keen to hear my words. I also spoke with Zeke." She exhales and rubs at one ear absently. "Many seem as if they wished their own ships, and plan to leave the city altogether."
Aryia gives a thumbs up with her spare hand. "Thanks. I hope it pans out."
Her attention is brought to her sister properly, head tilting to the side with one ear drooping down. She blinks. Then rubs her arm. "I see. I... hope it went okay."
She looks to the Tormwar River beside and below them. "... who can blame them? Getting ground into the dirt over and over, giving everything but getting nothing. Or almost nothing. Kind of half the reason why I got the damn boat. I can probably shove everyone I care about onto it and get the fuck out of here if need be. It'll be cramped but..." She shrugs. <Handspeech>
Aya follows her sister's gaze to the Tornmawr. "I do not blame them," she voices; audible but not loud. "Zeke mentioned the saying that home is where the heart is. He is not wrong; this city is just a place. Though it is the place where I found my heart." She looks to Aryia. "You, Daed, Lily..." she pauses to snort, "even Seldan. I would never expect all to stay, just do not wish to see all leave."
Aryia puts her hands into her pockets and kicks a stray rock that was tossed up onto the roof. It tumbles down, clattering across the rocky bank before splashing into the waters below. She shares the look, then bumps shoulders with Aya. "He is right. Home is where the heart is. Though... it is part of our life. Home moves. Sometimes... you have to leave home, or it leave you, so you know what it's like to return to it," she waxes with a hand while giving a soft smile. "And with how long we'll be around, that'll likely happen quite often." <Handspeech>
Aya nudges back and nods. "Daed has land here; now more, even. As long as he is here, I will be. I hope you won't stray -too- far." Both corners of her mouth lift. "It's nearly impossible to find anyone who can keep up with me, much less tolerate me."
Aryia gives a soft smile as one arm circles around her sister. "Think of it less as tolerating and more of: 'figuring out how to get back at you'," she teases before shaking her head. "I don't know where I'd end up going. But I sure as fuck will keep in touch if I do go."
She steps away, grins a bit, then jabs a thumb over her shoulder. "Come on. Got to run back to the Colloseum like this to finish up." <Handspeech>
