Strange Meetings in the Snow
Snow is coming down in savage gusts, it's so cold in fact, that the blue-scaled sith-makar who is walking down the road toward Alexandria is huddled inside his cloak. He keeps a weather eye on the road, but visibility isn't that great at the moment. It's getting dark, and there's little that the lighting in the area can do about it. Zeke shakes his head subtly at the weather and hastens his steps towards the city gates.
What would bring what appeared to be a bronze golem out of the city and into the area outside of Alexandria? Food was one of the most probable reasons. The figure in question was leaving one of the side roads to the main entrance of the gate with a small straw lined basket in one hand. Hopefully they did not trip, as they had all of them in one.
They stop rather abruptly as they see someone else going down the road. Their head tilts one way, and they nod.
"Another giant lizard person, that is, Sith-makari? Yes, but this one is bright blue. How many colors do they come in? Does it serve some purpose, like a mul'niessa's skin reflecting their life underground? Would that mean a blue one is aquatic or semi aquatic, perhaps?" They ramble out loud to themselves, not even attempting to hide their scrutiny. Their voice low and staticky from the mouthpiece of their helmet, which glows slightly with each word.
Zeke comes to a stop as he hears the sound of the golem's voice. He blinks once, and his green eyes darken slightly. "Thisss one isss one of the People yesss." He pauses again and looks at the golem. "Thisss one isss called Zeke, and it iss not consssidered polite to asssk ssuch quesstionsss, particularly of one you do not know."
He doesn't notice, but his instruction of the golem has allowed his cloak to pull back a little. Enough to reveal the crystal arm and leg on his left side. Not that he'd been trying to hide them before, but the chill had encouraged him to try and conserve what warmth he had.
"One of the people? I mean, of course you are, I've met a couple sith-makari so far, and they've all been people." They answer matter of factly when they're spoken to, only to realize that they were spoken to. "Oh! I'm sorry, I wasn't asking questions, I was thinking out loud, which likely isn't much better in a lot of ways, but it's different. Bothering you wasn't intentional, mister or misses Zeke."
Then their head seems to swivel and stare left of Zeke, for a long moment.
Zeke is quiet a long moment then nods as if to himself. "Thisss one thought you were ssspeaking to thisss one. Thisss one wasss missstaken." He offers a low, polite nod to the golem and then draws his cloak around himself more firmly once again. "Thisss one will be along then."
"No, I wasn't speaking to you, but that doesn't mean I don't wish to, after all, I don't know many sith-makari in this city." They answer suddenly when Zeke turns to leave. "Especially not one with arms and legs made of an unknown substance like that! My name is Schara since I didn't mention it and have a habit of forgetting to tell people I met my name, can I get to know you better so I can ask questions about you? If that's alright that is but I understand if it is not." They continue rambling, practically bouncing on the spot as they continued looking where the arm disappeared.
The blue-scale stops again at the words. He seems initially inclined to talk to the golem, but the look in his eyes after her complete statement is... Very difficult to read. It's a measured thing, tightly controlled. "They are blessssingsss of the Dragonfather. If the quessstionsss that you have are in regardss to them... thisss one will be on thisss onesss way." Zeke's eyes flicker to the way she's bouncing up and down and then meets her gaze. "Thisss one hasss met otherss with sssuch fasscination, and it isss dissscomforting to thisss one. If you wisssh to know ssssome-thing elssse, perhapsss thisss one can be of asssissstance to you."
"Oh! Dragonfather, not a gift from your father who was a dragon, but I think mister Skielstregar said that was another name for Daeus. I'm not sure how they gave you limbs, but, huh."
The artificer stops moving, and looks down at the floor instead. "What made them listen in your case? I'm sorry, but, yes, the questions were likely about your limbs and how they function, but I guess they still cause you a lot of discomfort, too. I understand, mine hurt all the time, so I get not wanting to talk about it." They answer after a long sigh.
Briefly, Zeke closes his eyes. He reaches up and rubs his brow with his flesh-and-blood claw carefully and then looks at the golem once again. "How old are you, if thisss one might asssk?"
"How old I am? I guess you can ask that, but I thought you were going elsewhere since you said you would if my questions were about your limbs, which they were." The artificer answers after a moment. "One hundred and fourteen years, eleven months and four days, why do you want to know, though?"
Zeke looks at the golem. "Thisss one knowsss that sssome of your people are very young, but look grown. Thisss one wasss wondering if you were one sssuch. It ssseemsss that thisss isss not the cassse how-ever. Thusss, asss you sssaid. Thisss one will be on thisss onesss way." He nods politely to her and begins once again to make his way toward the gate.
"Well, yes, most elves are still considered fairly young when they're under one hundred years old, so I'm still fairly young, so that is the case? I'm confused though, you said it isn't the case." The artificer huffs from where they were standing. "Regardless, I understand I've been bothering you with all my talk, and I hope that I can get to know you better at some point so I can understand them better, but if it requires help from the gods, then it's probably out of the question to begin with."
"Perhapsss! If we meet again." Zeke lifts a claw, the cold billowing around him, and he hastens away into the city. It is after all, very late.
