- Summary: One morning at Wilderness Pointe, there is an odd sight of Skielstegar going over his odd collection of items that he's gathered over the past month or so. Glass trinkets, things made of silver, military baubles, so on and so forth. Yaretzi catches him and comments on it as Skiel gives some history to the items. They speak of his partner (which makes him embarrassed), of home, and what he could do with all these things. They make a plan to do a delivery of firewood to the inn before scouting a spot for Yaretzi to make a more permanent campsite.
- Wilderness Pointe, Morning.
Dawn's light filters through the canopy over Wilderness Pointe, the foot traffic of the morning stalls selling hunting supplies and travel gear to and from Alexandria. Hunting parties are out in full force as the wights have pulled back, and the fall harvest is in question. Ergo, the forest needs some culling to maintain natural order.
Speaking of maintaining things, a massive figure is sitting down on the ground with their legs splayed out, silver tail snaking behind them. Before them, like a massive dinner plate, is a piece of slate jutting out of the ground, a natural formation. Atop it is various knickknacks and shiny things. Set up and set out, the fanged figure scratches the side of their face. "When did thisss one get ssso many... thingsss?"
Before the armored warrior caste includes but not limited to: a small glass figuring of a dragon, a medal of valor, a tiny version of the city's battle standard, about five stacks of silver coins, a piece of stained glass depicting simple bird, a silver ring that's way too small for him, so on and so forth.
Yaretzi had been brought to Wilderness Pointe for some restocking of supplies, and small trade. It's the market grounds she strolls, starting at the end away from the Silver-Blooded Makari. She's not too keen on finding familiar faces, not when she has a goal in mind, but as she meanders and takes her time, it's impossible to ignore Skielstregar once he's noticed.
Crossing his way, Yaretzi motions a hand in greeting, stepping between two hunters to reach where the man sits with his trinkets. "Peace upon your nests, Friend." she gets out with a smirk. <Draconic>
"Yar come for business, but this.... what's this collection?" Yaretzi's brow raising in clear interest. "Eye's like an Egalrin? Shiny-shiny? Dragon blood?"
It is hard to not notice him. He's a giant shiny mirror in the morning sun!
He grunts, looking up before smiling. "Ah, Godclaw, peace on your nest," he rumbles warmly ìn his native tongue before looking to the things before him.
"Uhh... this one is unsure? They did not realize they had collected so many things as of late," he shrugs. "Most of these things they just found... neat? They suppose."
A blink. Then a grin, "Well, except this one," he taps a medal. <Draconic>
Yaretzi nods slowly, stooping a bit to peer at the medal. "What is the story of this one?" she asks, letting eyes actually roam the possessions with renewed interest. "Most are pretty...." agreeing, lingering on the stained glass.
"Now shame in trinkets. You have seen some of Yar's." The large woman's smile growing. Though still small in the shadow of the Silver Makari. <draconic>
Skielstregar holds up the medal. Something issued by the city, and the makari holds it up proudly. "Thisss one got it from the sssoftskin city for alerting them about the incoming wight horde!" he enthuses, jangling it a bit to make it jingle jangle. "Their mate got one too, along with many other brave people!"
He rubs his neck. "Ah, yes, no shame. Just this one is not used to having so many tiny things. Used to having only what is needed. But they just find these things neat as of late?" <Draconic>
Yaretzi snorts and shakes her head. "Cihuaa is deeper than just mate." Yaretzi borrowing someone's words with a smirk. "Yours was amused to hear Yar call her such." the mirth sitting in the woman's tone, her tease playful if not a bit smug. "Learned much of both, Yar did."
"Neat they are, and normal to collect things and treasures over time." Yar's tone dismissive, as if it's a natural thing. "More if they have stories such as that one." <draconic>
Skielstregar blinks. And very quickly, icicles form on his cheeks. "A-Ah. Y-Yes. Um. Cihuaa..." He taps his fingers together shyly. "Vaera is this one Cihuaa. It... is still to believe, and it brings this one much joy..."
His tail flick-flicks.
He brushes the ice off, then looks back up with a chuckle. "Yes, it is normal. Just.. different, not used to so many things." He holds the dragon figurine up to her. "Look, this here sparkles nicely!" <Draconic>
Yaretzi bobs her head to Skielstregar, smiling wider at the motion of tail, and ice of cheeks. "As it does Vaera." she assures. "She is tough one, but speaks low of herself." a shake of her head, but the warmth is still in her tone. "Both chose well, fitting for one another."
Now it's the mention of the dragon figure that draws her attention to it, trying to see how each shift of claw causes the light to flash off its surface. "It does, it is a neat thing. Does it have a story too? Where does Skielstregar even find such things?" <draconic>
Skiel nods his head sharply. "Yes. She is tough. Been through much. And is very capable, much more than she gives herself credit for." His dead eyes soften up at Yaretzi. "Thank you. This one thinks so as well."
There's a low rumble in his chest at that. Is that.. a giggle? "This one just found it at a stall in the city! They were drawn to it." He tilts his head to the side. "Earlier you said dragon-blood. What do you mean by that?" <Draconic>
Yaretzi looks up to Skielstregar, canting her head. "Many tales of dragons in city. They covet things. Food, trinkets, coin. Some of them anyhow." Yaretzi intones, thinking for a moment as her dark eyes squint in thought. "Yes, fish greedy things, or... whatever has fancy." having to had think upon it. "Yaretzi is no expert, but reminded of child's tales she read when she first arrived. Shiny Makari born of Silver, likes the sparkle." those last words her putting her thoughts to a story. <draconic>
Skielstregar's talon scratches his chin. "Hmm.. that is true. This one never considered that their blood might have some influence in that," he mentions, shifting some. His halberd catches on the ground, and he reaches back to nudge it out of the way. "Perhaps it is something that this one needs to read more about. Perhaps the sparkle. But if they got for sparkle, why did they buy this?" he asks, holding up a miniature version of the Alexandria standard. <Draocnic>
Yaretzi ponders this, shrugging. "Yaretzi is no expert." she reminds with a laugh and broad smile. " I can not explain all of Skielstregar. Know yourself better than I." her hand waved before her dismissively, looking at the standard. "Pride? City Skielstregar helped. Rewarded for it. Personal, like the medal? Only postulation and thoughts." she throws out guesses. "What will one do with trinkets?" <draconic>
Skielstregar just gives a small laugh and pulls his pack in front of him, carefully packing a few of the trinkets away. "Yes, Godclaw is no expert. Neither is this one! They need to ask others. The banner was bought before the medal was given. Perhaps it could be pride. They try to not be too prideful, they don't want it to turn into arrogance."
He ponders this. "... they should hang them back up at camp, and make their own hoard," he laughs. "What brings you to this place?" he inquires, curious. "Looking for more trinkets for yourself?" <Draconic>
Yaretzi snakes her head, eyeing Skielstregar at his question. "No, not this day. Looking for tack, and small supplies. See what the forest demands. It is like jungles, but unlike them too." she explains, looking back about the market as she stands tall. "Learning lands."
"Skielstregar is far from arrogant, and he would do well to litter his camp with his likings. At least it be comfortable." Yaretzi points out. <draconic>
Skielstregar bobs his head. "This one finds that dry supplies work better in forest. Jungle won't ruin them," he offers as advice. And, he chuckles happily. "Yes, this one is proud that they are far from arrogant, they just wish to keep it that way. Perhaps they will converse with Vaera about what should go where."
"Have you ever found a more permenant camp before?" <Draconic>
Yaretzi nods. "At home we have village, and guarded lands, but by self? No." taking a moment to think on Skiel's words, nodding. "I don't know what one should do about camp and place. It's up in air."
"Yes, Cihuaa's opinion matters, does she like trinkets?" Yaretzi asks, shifting as a glance goes about the market. "What does she like? Other than training swiftclaw." <draconic>
Skielstregar makes a rumbling sound as he finishes packing up the last of his trinkets. "Ah, this one sees. They had similar. But Mictlan is different, and we cannot settle properly and build, as it disturbs the land. So we make camps. Perhaps you can find a spot in the wilds you enjoy? This one knows of some friends that have made the forest their home."
He gets up, shoudlering his pack. "Ah, Cihuaa-" his face freezes, "enjoys carving wood. Perhaps a good cut of wood? She also likes mechanical things." <Draconic>?
Yaretzi nods once, taking a moment to peer at the Sith-Makar before she speaks. "It is likely, the walls feel wrong, and I like the feel and smells better than the city." a shrug cast. "It is hard to know what toes need not be stepped on. Yaretzi just seeks place to sleep and be."
"It is good you know her so well. She's truly kind, and that bond you share is seen." Yaretzi adds. <draconic>
Skielstregar is rumbling happily, tail swaying as he's peered at. Though, the morning sun makes it a bit hard, he's being sparkly. Dang shiny lizard. "Yes. It all feels off. And this one just cannot walk in their streets well, they have to go slow." His talons dig into the earth, as if to elaborate his point. "Perhaps this one can show you some spots they have found during their time patrolling the woods?" he offers.
The further compliments makes an icicle form on his cheek. "... you are kind to say such things," he mumbles, looking at the ground. Awh, he's embarrassed. "She and I make a good pair." <draconic>
Yaretzi snorts a laugh. "Yar likes sappy tales of love. It's at least a cute one." Yaretzi admits, looking at Skeil's after his offer.
"That would be keen, appreciated, and welcome." The woman admits of the offer. "This land is an unknown, and a guide and familiar eyes is always welcome as one is learning." <draconic>
Skielstregar shifts on his feet some. "Well, erm, perhaps this one will tell you how Vaera and this one got together. It is... a ride, as the softskins say?"
He grins. "Good! Perhaps... hrmm. This one needs to return to Mictlan. But if you are still around, this one was going to return to this trading post to sell firewood to the inn. If you are around then, this one can show you." <Draconic>
Yaretzi nods with a soft smile aimed at Skielstregar. "Of course. Tell any tale, and do what one must. Yaretzi knows well she's intrusion." a laugh and broader smirk flashed. "Yar is the one out of place, as she is the one without duty and people here." settling a bit. "She can wait however long is needed."
"If Silver need, or like help, Yaretzi is willing and eager." The human woman notes. <draconic>
Skielstregar laughs. "This one is also out of place as well! It is not home! But, they are making home as best they can for now. This one's sister lives here, as well as their Cihuaa. And so many friends!"
He ponders this question. "... per... haps you can! This one needs help hauling. We can skirt around Mictlan and go to this one's camp, get firewood, drop off here, rest, then go scouting for a place for you to start making a more... permanent spot?" <Draconic>
Yaretzi nods her head firmly. "Good, gives things to do, and reason for the day." she agrees, a hand rising to brush dark braids from her face. "This is a fair deal, and one that has purpose for us both." <draconic>
