A long building composed of weathered stone, dual marks of Tarien and Gilead oversee its entrance and welcome the weary traveler. Inside is often cool during summer times, though cold at winter, and accomodations are sparse, though comfortable enough for a brief stay. An iron stove serves to heat a portion of it.
Outside the Waystation is a great firepit, with long, log benches. Between each bench are stone markers bearing symbolic carvings of the Hunter's Lord and Coyote, meaning the area serves as an impromptu shrine of sorts for travelers.
A pair of Wardens are often present for the protection of travelers and patrol of the road. Their uniforms are dualy marked with the Bow and Arrow of the Hunter's Lord, and the Rising Phoenix of Alexandria.
Mikilos sits quietly at a long wooden table, sorting though a pile of... rasins? Small wrinkly things of some sort. The room is atypically warm, the iron stove glowing a faint red. Wizards.
Fayde walks in, casually knocking off a couple stacks of snow from his shoulders as he makes his way in. He's dressed casually as ever for one of his scholarly order. Which is to say, he's apathetic towards the weather that doesn't seem to ever phase the big eyed half mul. Sorcerer. He glances around, eventually finding a familiar face to make his way towards with a light wave.
Mikilos mmms absently, glancing up from his dry berry sorting, and smiles. "G'evening. What brings you out and about?"
Fayde clears his throat mildly before replying,"Just getting out for a casual stroll. I remember when these winters seemed so terrible, now I can scarcely feel the cold at all. Been a while since I've been out your way, how's business?:
Mikilos shrugs mildly. "And here I'm feeling the cold more sharply. Too many trips to the tropics, I suppose. Busniess has been a little slow, which is typical in winter. Been keeping busy with a personal project, and I expect things will perk up a bit once I'm finished with that."
Fayde smiles widely at that,"Oh? I look forward to hearing all about it! I won't trouble you with a thousand questions though." He nods assuringly then.
Mikilos chuckles and waves vaugely. "Oh nothing secret. Just a simple grey robe."
Fayde deadpans at the wizard,"A simple gray robe?" He shrugs then with a grin,"Well. Like I said, I look forward to hearing all about it" He grins easily as he says,"The observatory has been busy since verifying the Heth Prophecy, got us a spot of notoriety."
Mikilos sits with Fayde at a wooden table, the tall elf sorting though a pile of dried berries. The iron stove glows faintly with heat, leaving the room quite warm. "Well, maybe not so simple. You've heard of Robes of the Archmagi?" He frowns mildly, and nods. "I heard something of your results, though not the technical details. Sadly, I don't think Heth will be removed any time soon, despite all the efforts."

Fayde shrugs a little at the query,"I've heard something about such, maybe from Cesran. Aren't they a status symbol?" He then adds,"He may not be, but at least we have a bit more insight into what we're dealing with. We basically proved that Heth has indeed been foretold. Perhaps he has some sort of divine substance? There's something there to investigate."
Mikilos nods. "Status in some circles, but you'll find that most anywhere. A common fighter can't afford shiney platemail. And it takes the power of an archmage for some of the enchantments. Anycase, it's my understanding heth uses the powers of the Void, which seems something the opposite of the divine. I've tried a bit of research onto the Void, but by it's nature it's rather unstable. And very very easy for research to head down the wrong path. A bit like necromancy, though the two aren't directly connected."
Fayde raises his brows at that,"I see...I've always wondered if there was a tie between necromancy and the void, regardless of what the vampire Barntos says or claims."
Mikilos nods. "I don't claim to be an expert on either topic, but those who are tend to not be the sort you could trust. But something can be of the Void, and have nothing to do with necromancy, or be of necromancy, and have no connection to the Void."
Fayde rubs the back of his head as he says,"I understand, being..." he lowers his voice and looks around suspiciously,"Obviously mul-ish, I won't be surprised if I develop powers along those lines as my talents continue to develop."
Mikilos frowns slightly, and hesitates a moment. "...stell can be used to make armorto protect, or for weapons to injur. Wood can make a table, or arrows. The power inside is just a substance. What you shape it into is up to you."
Fayde gets a slight twinkle to his eyes as he considers the validity of that point,"I just wish I knew where my heritage originated. All the same, you're right." He nods at that.
Mikilos nods, and considers. "There are spells, rituals, of heritage, typically used to assure a child and a parent are indeed connected. Sadly, most are of blood magics, which again can easily take a dark path. Year or two back, young child appeared on my doorstep, claiming to be my daughter. Sweet little child, and while I did recall meeting her mother, was quite sure she wasn't mine. Turned out my cousin had spent the night about the same time. He and his new bride were delighted to adopt the little girl... reminds me, her birthday is comming up, and I really should send a gift."
Fayde nods as he listens to the story related by Mikilos, deciding to step on over and take a seat."Well, I'll be sure to send a card. Maybe our scriptorium will be built by then and it'll make a nice first project." He smiles at that,"My dad was a wizard, I think I mentioned previously. Professor of Philosophy in Rune, no particularly special line there that I know of. Perhaps one day I'll attempt a Communion to explore the possibilities"
Mikilos nods. "Are a number of opertunities, just a matter of finding the one that works for you. Which I suppose is true of most things in life."
Fayde nods to the sensibility of his point of view there. He rubs the back of his head, then sends a waitress to bring him a warm ale. He then looks back,"Do you think there is much call for wands or staves? I know Cesran is rather fond of his, but I rather think staves of minor arcana could be handy speaking of things that work. Crystal balls are losing their lustre."
Mikilos considers. "Certainly there's a market. How large of one, I don't know. Wands I hear call for on occasion, though staves are uncommon enough I'm not sure people would think to call for one even if they do have a need. For myself, I don't like wands. I'm not too fond of anything that gets used up and thrown away. I understand the utility, but it irks my sense of style."
Fayde nods his agreement once again,"My feelings exactly. I'd rather try to build a niche, in light of how uncommon they are. And the fact you can use staves indefinitely, as you pointed out. Requires more artistry too, I think." He rubs the back of his head thoughtfully as his drink is brought out.
Mikilos nods. "Very handy to have around, in their own way. I keep thinking I should get one for myself, but other matters come up before I actually do it. Believe I'll pick up one of thsoe MetaMagic Rods first, however. I used to be skeptical of them, but changed my mind after seeing Steel von Ironblood put them to amazing use. which may be the scariest thing I've ever said."
Fayde winces a little at the reference there himself. He hrms a bit in consideration of this possibility then, thinking aloud,"I could start out there with rods of empowerment if I put my hands to those."
Mikilos nods. "A useful trick, one I've picked up myself. Has come in handy on a few occasions."
Fayde takes a long swig of his ale, contemplating this for a bit before shrugging easily,"Well, I suppose I shouldn't trifle with things too far away too much. What's more pressing is continuing to analyze those findings and seek new ones. Do you know much about the three courts?"
Mikilos frowns, and nods. "A little. Some of my professors back in Llyranost helped with some of the research. But it's not something I've kept up to date with."
Fayde nods,"If I recall, the Court of Light is the one everyone is looking for. Personally, I think they should secure the Court of Twilight while they carry on looking. I believe we could make use of it, and perhaps even find clues there."
Mikilos nods. "The Courts have a way of careing for themselves. They've lasted just fine of their own for longer than most can understand. But i agree, what has been found should be carefully studied."
Fayde hrms a bit as he considers those words, then says,"Aye, I just fear that these are resources for the enemy if left unsecured. Unlike the Court of Darkness, we might can exploit the Court of Twilight in the process if it comes down to it. I don't know how, but it seems reasonable."
Mikilos nods. "Agreed. Most things can be dangerous if left to the wrong hands. Sadly, is not certainity that ours are the right hands. In ignorance, we may do something worse than our foes would do intentionally."
Fayde looks down at that, but quickly recomposes himself as he says,"Well, we know the sort of things they would do. Reason enough that we should take hold of them and study them, if not use them." He then takes another drink from his glass, not much left there.
Mikilos nods. "True enough. I agree, Alexandros should act. But with caution. Too much is at stake to rush too fast."
Fayde nods, tossing back the rest of his drink before rising to his feet."Aye...well. It was good meeting you again." He shrugs his shoulders bit, a light pop issuing.
Mikilos grins. "Always nice to chat. If anything of note comes up, feel free to drop by. Or just send a message, I'm usually able to travel."
Fayde nods more curtly,"Indeed, will do." He offers a wave as he turns to make his way on out.
