In which there is an unwanted letter
Outside it's a remarkably nice day considering the season, but those inside the Soldier's Defense don't seem to have the time to think about it. Most people are bustling about from one task to another. There are many sick about; those who suffer from the plague are the most common among those ill. Those being tended to by volunteers whom wear masks to hopefully protect themselves somewhat from the sickness. The buckets of soapy water by each bedside seems to be more effective however.
Among those whom are busy today is Zeke, a blue-scaled sith who has his cloak's hood pushed back to show his dark arching horns out of diffidence to the fact that he's inside. He bustles toward a bed only to be stopped by a messenger who hands him a letter. The sith stops, opens the letter and then proceeds to stand there stock-still. Not a single scale so much as shifts.
A gobber runs in, panting, looking fairly worn out. They run up to Zeke as they spot him, and then clear their throat. "I have a message for you."
The Gobber is dressed in the livery of the GPS (Gryphon Postal Service). He pulls out a kazoo, blows on it to check tune, and then the letter comes out with another piece of paper shoved into Zeke's gem-arm. The crinkle of parchment as it is unfolded and then with a slightly scratchy voice.
"To the most beautiful true expression of art, which is not an explosion:"
"Roses are red" "Violets are purple" "I don't know what violence" "Attached you to something so blurple" "You glisten away" "Like the gems from Am'shay"
A slight pause, a drawn in breath and the gobber continues, "I wrote that for you. The first time I saw you, I wrote that for you. I hope you like it, it is my finest work. I never thought I could write something so beautiful, but you inspired me to great things. Since then I've changed how I go to work in hopes that I see you again, that you notice a tiny and bewarted creature such as myself. If you ever want me to take you away from that silly Sith that thinks he owns you, just give me a sign."
"I'll always wait for you."
"With Greatest Love,"
“Your Secret Admirer"
"P.S. Attached is my favorite drawing of you." The gobber motions to the parchment that he originally stuffed into Zeke's gem-arm, "I did not have enough glitter to make it sparkle enough."
Too bad Kae doesn't have her own band to play her theme music, it could either be played with Kazoos, or folks doing scat singing (read Levan polka or some such). Still, Enter Kae! And well she's kinda humming her own theme music (Levan polka) as she has to duck, shimmy and wiggle to finally get her back hips through the doorway.
The goof is still 'cursed' as it were... She might even be enjoying it, considering Kae and all...
Kae then hears the letter, and holds her hands in the air! "Ooh! OOoh! You has secret Admirer!!! Congratulations!!!" She calls out to Zeke, she really doesn't know them all that well, well not really at all, but Kae's always excited over another person's 'good fortune'!
Another pause and Kae oooohs "I got a cart of goodies is outside the place! Lotsa supplies and some artifice to help with the sick!!!" She says happily... "I couldn't squeeze the cart inside it's too wide though! But luckily I really didn't need a horse to pull it!!!"
Erendriel makes her way into the Soldier's Defense. Not usually having reason to come into a hospital. Not having any particular healing abilities after all. But she is seeing if anything new has been learned about the plague. Getting there, she sees Zeke getting a letter. "Hi...." she says softly, taken aback by the ... not quite singing telegram.
Iuitl enters the hospital, unaware of the horror(?) that Zeke just experienced. She approaches at a slow shuffle because of a recent weakness that has come over her. She slides her feet until she reaches him but stops at a polite distance to let him finish ... coping with the situation.
Kaelyn's shouting prompts her to growl softly. "This is a place of healing. Please... quiet," she urges the excited woman. And then a shiver wracks her body, and she takes a moment just kinda hugging herself.
She waits patiently, apparently suffering from an illness of her own. It isn't the local plague, it seems.
If you have never seen a truly startled sith-makar before, then it's difficult to describe what one looks like. That is however, precisely how Zeke looks in this moment. He never expects the goblin messenger, certainly never expects the paper shoved at his... He hastily tries to intercept the paper shoved at the - what is in his mind the wrong direction - but it gets there anyways and he hops backwards like he's been shocked. Which he has been.
The next few seconds are torture. Everyone, /everyone/ is staring at him and he can't shrink away. He's totally speechless. He's trapped. He's suddenly, completely glad for Kaelyn's timely arrival to break those eyes from /him/. He sags in relief. He looks at her with a mixture of emotions that are difficult to explain. Has to double-take at her unique... condition, and bows his head quickly to the goblin messenger.
"Thisss one mussst return to work. Yessss..." Anything but pay attention to the... The letter attached now to the arm he hides beneath the fall of his cloak is hastily tucked into a pocket. He shudders, resists so many urges and looks at the others. Ah he has garnered so much attention! "You may bring deliveriessss around to the back." He offers to Kaelyn, then turns toward Erendriel and Iuitl. "How may thisss one asssisssst you?"
As Zeke takes, what is presumably a drawing, and stuffs it into his pocket, there is a fine line of glitter trailing after him.

The Gobber of the GPS, having delivered the message snaps to attention and starts heading back toward the door out. He looks much better off now that he's had some time to stop from running hither and thither. Seeing Kaelyn mostly still in the doorway, he ducks down and just walks under the dragon-taur instead of trying to work his way around. "Excuse me, pardon me." And out the door.
"Where did I park that gryphon?" were his parting words.
Erendriel looks at Kaelyn, and sees someone else has already taken care of warning her this is a hospital. She then snickers, and looks back to Zeke, approaching. "Hi, I was going to ask you that. You helped me. Now I want to help you." Well, she does ask Zeke that, but her eyes follow the glitter, mostly.
See, from the waist down, Kae's well, she's a riding drake! Really! Black scales, with red highlights and more rust-read heavy scales down the center of her back, covering her lower spine. Not to mention a really long tail, this ending in a slightly curved singular spike. And that tail is waggling every now and then. The durned thing is dangerous! especially with Kae in the 'driver's seat!
The gobber walks under her and she blinks, beding double at her waist and looking between her forelegs at the Gobber, before popping upright at the mention of out back...
She then ooohs and nods "Okie!" She calls out, spins around, the tail whipping over heads and whatnot and really not hitting anything..
Kae then ducks back out the door, her back hips catching some then she squeezes through, her scales scraping some on said door.. It's not long before the sound of a cart can be heard rolling around back?
A few minutes later, in wanders Kae from the back!!! She pauses as her back hips get caught, and she pushes, tugs, and finally manages to get through this time by turning partly sideways, twisting and getting one back leg in before the other... "Okie! Got it!" She says cheerful bright, well pseudo whisper, she's at least trying to hold the volume down!
Frankly, Iuitl is just as uncomfortable right now. She came here just to get looked at by a medic and now there's some sort of social train wreck going on and she can't escape from it. She needs help, so she waits for Zeke to prompt her, just calmly suffering and shivering. When she finally gets her opening, she speaks up, "Healing. I am afflicted with a disease. I think it's ghoul fever... it came from a ghast we had slain the other day." She shuffles closer to Zeke, as a patient, and waits to be treated or directed.
Since, uh, everyone is vying for his attention, she kinda dips her head and waits even now.
Zeke doesn't notice the glitter, he's too focused on... well really /anything/ else. He nods to Kaelyn's departure, and slowly relaxes as people stop stairing. His letter and her antics had garnered quite a crowd and his tail is flicking behind him like a thing possessed. After a brief moment Zeke considers Erendriel's proposal and motions for her to come closer. "We can alwayssss usssse aid. Come, help this one tend to Iuitl." He remembers her name easily; kindly. He motions to Iuitl to sit on the bed nearby. "Let usss check you out yesss? To be certain before magic isss usssed. Tell thisss one how you feel, what hurtssss."
Zeke glances at Erendriel. "Do you know how to take a temperature?"

Erendriel looks to Iuitl, then shakes her head to Zeke. "I'll try my best, of course. I Want to help you. But um... I don't know anything about taking temperatures." She then shifts on her feet. "Need someone to boil some water or something like that? Don't hospitals need hot water?" She seems a little hopeful about that thought.

Kae's tail lashes once, she blinks and holds up a couple things that kind of resemble rags? Kind of? they're well squishy, jel-like, and blue! Oh and there's a little crystal on one end... "These thingies help with fevers, they get cold when you push the button, or if you need them to act as heaters, just turn the button till it turns red and then push it, and it'll get warm too!" She says happily.
Really simple artifice but perhaps something that can help.. she then ohs and holds up some other things and well, regardless of audience starts describing various artifice she's come up with for the healing house and all…
Iuitl gives a side-eye to Erendriel when she mentions boiling water to help, looking immediately skeptical. The dark Sith-Makar takes a seat where indicated and gives a powerful shiver and an audible whine. "Weakness. Tired. Muscles don't work right." She lifts an arm, which trembles. She isn't feeble or crippled, but the trembling is intense. "Very warm. Too warm, for this cold weather."
She lays down on the bed, then, pulling her legs up and grunting as she does so.

Zeke moves closer to the bed. Kaelyn is... distracting, but he has work to do and its easy for him to put his mind to it. "You plassse your hand here." The sith motions to the appropriate place. "Thissss isss different from sssoftssskinsss, but good to know yesss? Can you lift your arm Iuitll?" She does so with effort and he nods. "Yessss, thissss one thinksss you have the right of it. Thisss one will sssspeak wordsss for you, and we will ssee if it helpssss with thissss." With that he touches her shoulder, just the barest touch of fingers.

Erendriel reaches out to catch some of the glitter streaming from Zeke, and flings it into the air in front of her. She then continues to stand behind Zeke, ready to help in any way he needs.

Iuitl lays there and follows instructions, lifting her hand up to place it where indicated. She watches him as he leans in to apply his magic. And when the power fades, she shivers powerfully, and flinches. The spellwork didn't do its job, but she knows that he'll be able to get to it soon. For now, she'll lay here in the bed and wait to be treated. She turns over onto her side and closes her eyes, and pulls her tail up to her chest to hug it. Zeke will get it eventually, but not today it seems.
Zeke knows immediately that the spell didn't do its work so he makes a soothing sound. "Thisss one will try again sssoon." He will, as soon as the gods allow. One way or another the disease will be defeated; there are so many that can not be cured at all, and he refuses to let one more walk through his door. With her taken care of though he turns to Erendriel. "Thisss one can ussse ssssome hot water, you ssssaid you can makessss sssome yesss? In a pot?"
Which is when Kaelyn walks up and he blinks at her twice. "No, thisss will not help."
Iuitl nods in silent understanding. She's resting for now, waiting for the divine healing. She looks even smaller than she usually does, trembling subtly. She has an easy time tuning out the conversation around her as she focuses on resting, with how exhausted this ailment has her.

Erendriel claps and snickers. "Yes, hot water, that I can do." Her hands still glittering from what she picked up from Zeke's streaming, she gets to the post, fills it with water the old fashioned way, but starts heating it up in a much more modern way. She starts hitting it with fire. Over and over. Magically delicious. "Zeke is there anything else I can do after this, like clean up your glitter or get you some food?"
Azog arrives at the Soldier's Defense and peers around. It's not the sort of place he frequents. But he's carrying a crate of supplies under each arm. The temple of Angoron often helps with heavy lifting type tasks, so he will enter and see where they need him to put down his burden.
Kae blinks and ooohs "Soo not cold..." She turns the button, it turns red, so does the rest of the 'rag' She then hits the button and now it's warming up! She beams and hands it to Zeke "How bout nao?" She asks curiously, beaming cheerfully. That tail is lashing a weeee bit faster....
Zeke attends to Iuitl, but there's little he can do for her until he's had a chance to rest which... it seems is not going to be right away. He eyes Erendriel, watching her get the water going. "Thisss one appreciatesss the help Erendriel, but why are you being sssso conscerned with thissss one?" The question comes hesitantly and he finally accepts the odd rag from Kaelyn with a tired nod. "Yesss perhapsss. Would you like ssssomething warm Iuitl?" She seems to have the chills after all. But he will ask before giving her something she doesn't want.
. . , ~
Erendriel is able to boil the water as fast as fire will boil water. Magical fire, in fact. So she Takes the water where Zeke needed it, setting it down carefuly. Then she turns to Zeke, and smiles "Well you saved me. I didn't realize it at the time but when that wyvern zombie at me... something happened. I fireballed it, I dodged the fireball blast and didn't even get singed, and then the next thing I knew you were there."
Iuitl rolls over onto her back and puts her hands out for the warm thing. Her green eyes peer through the ratty feathers on her head and she shakily waits. Seems she'd really like something warm against her scales right now. She sneezes once, because she's covered in glitter. Why is she covered in glitter? She doesn't know. She looks confused.
Kae blinks at something... Another blink and there's a thump as well a forepaw and both her hands move to cover something shiny!! Her tail wags too, then she blinks "Jeeze why do I do thaaat!" She mutters and lifts the forepaw, under it is glitter... "Heeey whyfore is there glitter everywhere!" She calls out, now waggling the paw as she sits with her hind quarters, another dull thump happense too...
Kae then notices Azog and there's more waving, this time with both hands and the glittery forepaw
Azog looks over at Kaelyn waving. "Yes, hello," he says tiredly. "What are you, three?" He's unloaded his burden now, and seems to be preparing to head out. He does say, "If any of you wish to be free of plague, I can train you to fight. As I understand it, it's the magic that makes you succeptible. I can train you so you need not rely on that crutch."
And... now Zeke notices the glitter. Everywhere. "Oh... Excusssse thissss one!" Zeke gives the warmth to Iuitl and quickly backs away. He's getting glitter everywhere he goes. Time to escape. "We will talk again yesss Erendriel? Yessss." He hissess and quickly takes off. Toward the private areas of the hospital. Anywhere but here.
Erendriel will quickly Prestidigitate the glitter off of Zeke when he notices the glitter. Or tries to, anyway.
